On July 30, bet365 launched in Kansas as the state's newest sportsbook operator.
This debut is bet365’s 14th U.S. market after launching in Tennessee and Illinois earlier in the year.
Key takeaways
- bet365 launched its online sportsbook in Kansas.
- The sportsbook becomes the state's seventh live operator.
- Kansas bettors will access bet365 features like QuickSlip in time for the NFL preseason.
The launch lets Kansas bettors wager on futures, player props, and same-game parlays on the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs just in time for the NFL preseason. The markets also include in-state college teams, such as the Kansas State Wildcats, where users can access bet365's live bets and player props.
bet365 will integrate tech features such as BetSync and QuickSlip technologies for all Kansas bettors. BetSync enables users to track bets across apps and partner platforms, and QuickSlip simplifies the bet placement process by auto-filling the bet365 slip.
Kansas sports betting launched in September 2022, with retail sportsbooks debuting Sept. 1, and online platforms going live later on Sept. 28. bet365’s launch makes it the seventh online sportsbook to go live after DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, ESPN BET, and Fanatics.
Further bet365 commitment after joining the SBA
Last month, bet365 further committed to the U.S. sports betting market by joining the Sports Betting Alliance (SBA), an industry lobbying union sports betting operators formed in 2021.
bet365 became the fifth and first union member after founding members FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, and Fanatics created it.
Sports Betting Alliance President Jeremy Kudon said in a statement, “bet365 shares the SBA’s commitment to a regulated, transparent and sustainable U.S. online gaming market. Together, we’ll continue fighting for more states to swap their dangerous and unregulated sports betting and iGaming products for a regulated, consumer-protected legal platform.”
Kansas lawmakers vote to prevent online sports betting license extensions
Lawmakers considered changing current regulations while the Kansas online sports betting market expands. In April, Kansas legislators voted to remove online sports betting operators' ability to extend sports wagering licenses.
Legislators held the vote, as some Sunflower State lawmakers disagreed with the current regulatory structure. The 2025 legislative session concluded, and lawmakers have to reconsider the sports betting framework in the 2026 session.
The sportsbook license extension prohibition expires June 30, 2026, and operators can't extend licenses until then.
While state residents are unlikely to feel this decision's impact, six of seven live sportsbooks, BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings, Fanatics, FanDuel, and ESPN BET, all hold licenses until Aug. 31, 2027, leaving bettors uncertain about the future of sports betting in Kansas.
