Key Takeaways
  • bet365 is launching its online sportsbook and casino in Michigan, offering new-user bonuses including deposit matches and sportsbook credits.
  • The launch expands Michigan’s already competitive regulated market, which includes multiple national and local sportsbook operators.
  • Michigan continues to be a major U.S. iGaming hub, generating billions in handle and revenue since legal sports betting began in 2021.

bet365 launched its online casino and sportsbook app in the Wolverine State Friday morning. Both offerings are now available for eligible customers age 21 and over as of 9 a.m. ET.

New users will have bonus opportunities for both casino and sports betting.

First-time iCasino customers are eligible for up to a $1,000 deposit match as well as 1,000 free spins. The iGaming platform includes slots as well as blackjack, roulette, and a host of other gaming options.

New sports bettors can bet $10 and get $365 in sportsbook bonus bets. The bet365 sportsbook will include the company’s signature Early Payout Offers on soccer, football, basketball and other major sports.

The UK-based gaming giant is one of the best-known names in European gaming. It has also been a leading sportsbook and iCasino across Canada.

Michigan is set to be bet365’s 17th U.S. jurisdiction. The company has taken a more methodical approach than many of its competitors, going live months or even years later than many of its competitors.

Michigan’s first legal mobile sportsbooks started accepting bets in 2021.

“bet365’s launch in Michigan reinforces its position as a global leader in sports betting through growth into all legal markets,” the company said in a statement announcing the launch. “With new partnerships, wagers on over 96 sports, more leagues, and more niche sports than any other sportsbook, bet365 will expand its top-tier experience to users across the state.”

Michigan gaming expands

With Friday’s launch, Michigan bettors have access to 13 online sportsbooks and 16 iCasinos along with four real money poker platforms.

Michigan is one of just four states (along with Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and West Virginia) that offer a fully competitive online casino gaming market. The addition of bet365 cements a lineup that includes FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, and most other national brands.

Hard Rock had been the most recent Michigan sports betting and iGaming platform to go live when it launched in the state earlier this year.

Along with the national brands, Michigan is one of just a few states that has locally branded sportsbooks along with the major national operators. That includes Play Eagle, Fire Keepers, and Four Winds sportsbooks.

Michigan requires all iCasino and sportsbook operators to partner with one of the state’s three commercial casinos or a tribal casino. Michigan has generated nearly $26 billion in handle, $2.5 billion in Michigan betting revenue, and $125 million in taxes since legal sports betting began more than five years ago.
