Best odds and picks for Thanksgiving Day 2022

It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without the Lions, who have played on the last Thursday in November every year since 1945. This season is no exception, as Detroit hosts the Super Bowl odds favorite Buffalo Bills in the early game. Josh Allen & Co. opened as 9.5-point favorites after crushing Cleveland in a rare neutral site game in the Motor City.

Best bets for Thanksgiving

Giants New York Giants vs. Cowboys Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott Over 1.5 passing touchdowns (-150 at Unibet)

There's no love lost when the Giants and Cowboys clash. These two proud franchises have met 120 times since 1960, with Dallas holding a sizeable 72-47-2 advantage in the series. Oddsmakers clearly expect the 'Boys to pad that total on Thursday, as they opened as 8-point favorites at home.

Covers Senior Industry Analyst Jason Logan is also expecting a big game from Dak Prescott, who will be facing a feeble Giants defense that ranks 24th in DVOA against the pass and could be missing several key contributors in the secondary.

The two-time Pro Bowler put up his best effort of the season in Week 11, throwing for 276 yards and completing 88% of his passes. Better yet, Prescott did the bulk of the damage in just three quarters as the Cowboys cruised to a 40-3 win over the Vikings.

Mississippi State Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. Mississippi Mississippi Rebels: Mississippi State moneyline (-110 at DraftKings)

The Golden Egg is up for grabs as the Bulldogs and Rebels meet for their annual slugfest. Covers Senior Betting Analyst Andrew Caley has crunched the numbers and is siding with Mississippi State and its prolific Air Raid offense.

The Rebels rank 111th in the country in opponent completion percentage and 95th in opponent QB passer rating, and Andrew believes they won't be able to contain junior QB Will Rogers, who is having another solid year in the pass-happy system.

Best odds and picks for Black Friday 2022

There's no shortage of reasons to bypass the mall on Black Friday thanks to a truly epic lineup of games. Baylor and Texas get the party started in a battle for bragging rights in the Lonestar State, but the day's true headliner is England vs. USA. America hasn't beaten the Three Lions in World Cup play since 1950, although Saudi Arabia has proven with its recent victory over Argentina that anything is possible.

College hoops fans also have plenty to look forward to with the Phil Knight Invitational and the Phil Knight Legacy tournaments in Portland, plus the Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas.

League Matchup Time (ET)
NCAAF Baylor Bears vs. Texas Longhorns Noon
World Cup England vs. United States 2:00 p.m.
NHL Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Philadelphia Flyers 5:30 p.m.
NCAAF Florida Gators vs. Florida State Seminoles 7:30 p.m.
NBA Utah Jazz vs. Golden State Warriors 10:00 p.m.

Best bets for Black Friday

England England vs. USA United States: England to lead at half-time and full-time (+140 at bet365)

All eyes will be on Qatar’s Al Bayt Stadium on Friday at 2:00 p.m. ET as Team England takes on Team USA in a rivalry that dates back to the American Revolution.

England is 8-2-1 against the U.S. across all competitions and made a huge statement in their opening game by crushing Iran 6-2. America, meanwhile, squeaked out a 1-1 draw against Wales in a hard-fought match punctuated by six yellow cards.

Covers soccer expert Jason Ence was impressed with England's switch to a 4-3-3 formation against Iran as it enabled Gareth Southgate's young forwards to push in attack rather than sitting back and countering. The result was a huge 716-142 advantage in completed passes and seven shots on goal.

Jason expects a similar approach against the U.S. and is forecasting another wire-to-wire victory for the Three Lions on Friday in his USA vs. England picks and predictions.

Florida Florida Gators vs. Florida State Florida State Seminoles: Florida State -9.5 (-110 at bet365)

Don’t be deceived by Florida State’s record. Despite losing three games this season the Seminoles are a force to be reckoned with and appear to be peaking at just the right time.

Covers Senior Betting Analyst Andrew Caley has been watching the team’s performance closely, and has been impressed by how FSU has won four games in a row by an average of 33.5 points per game, and has covered those same contests by 18.1 points per game.

He believes the Seminoles will overwhelm the Gators, who lack overall depth and rank a distant 107th in opponent yards per play and 104th in opponent yards per rush.

Best odds and picks for Saturday, November 26

Futbol gives way to football on Saturday with a pair of marquee college matches. The action gets underway at noon when the Buckeyes host the Wolverines at Ohio Stadium. Both teams have identical 11-0 records and legitimate claims for being the best team in the nation.

The No. 13 Fighting Irish and No. 5 Trojans close out the day with an eagerly anticipated skirmish on the West Coast. Notre Dame is coming off a dominant 44-point drubbing of Boston College, while highly regarded USC is coming off its first win of the season against a ranked team.

League Matchup Time (ET)
NCAAF Michigan Wolverines vs. Ohio State Buckeyes Noon
NHL Edmonton Oilers vs. New York Rangers 1:00 p.m.
World Cup Argentina vs. Mexico 2:00 p.m.
NBA Dallas Mavericks vs. Toronto Raptors 5:00 p.m.
NCAAF Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. USC Trojans 7:30 p.m.

Best bets for Saturday

Michigan Michigan Wolverines vs. Ohio State Ohio State Buckeyes: Ohio State -7.5 (-110 at FanDuel)

There are 47 college football matchups on Saturday, but only one of them is universally recognized as "The Game." Held annually since 1900, this heavily-hyped showdown is expected to attract more than 15 million viewers around the country.

Covers Senior Betting Analyst Andrew Caley has been watching both team's injury reports like a hawk and has concerns about Michigan's backfield. Top back Blake Corum went down with an injury last week against Illinois, while backup Donovan Edwards was banged up in Week 11 against Nebraska. The two backs have combined for nearly 2,000 yards and 22 touchdowns at over six yards per carry.

Andrew expects the Buckeyes to take advantage of the battered Wolverines and force an inconsistent JJ McCarthy to beat them with his arm. The sophomore QB got off to a great start this season, but has thrown for just 655 yards while completing 52.3% of his passes in his last four games.

Dig into more of Andrew's analysis in his Michigan vs. Ohio State picks and predictions.

Notre Dame Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. USC USC Trojans: USC team total Under 34.5 (-111 at FanDuel)

Most college football rivalries are based upon proximity, but that isn't the case for Notre Dame and USC, who have maintained a mutual disliking despite being more than 2,000 miles apart. This year's game between the two schools carries even more significance than usual, as the 10-1 Trojans are gunning for an elusive spot in the College Football Playoff.

Covers college football expert Douglas Farmer has examined the matchup closely and expects the Trojans' high-scoring D will struggle to pick off passes against Notre Dame's conservative offense. The Irish have rushed the ball 215 times during their current five-game winning streak, compared to throwing it 117 times. USC cannot intercept balls if QB Drew Pyne is not throwing them at a high enough volume.

Without those short fields, in a game shortened by Notre Dame grinding out the clock on the ground, five touchdowns should be too much of a reach for USC.

Best odds and picks for Sunday, November 27

Sunday typically belongs to the NFL, but the league will have to play sharesies this weekend thanks to a pair of intriguing World Cup tilts and a star-studded NBA showdown between NBA MVP odds favorites Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

League Matchup Time (ET)
World Cup Croatia vs. Canada 11:00 a.m.
World Cup Spain vs. Germany 2:00 p.m.
NCAAB Phil Knight Legacy Final 3:30 p.m.
NBA Dallas Mavericks vs. Milwaukee Bucks 8:00 p.m.
NFL Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles 8:20 p.m.

Best bets for Sunday

Croatia Croatia vs. Canada Canada: Double chance - Canada/draw (-135 at PointsBet)

Canada may have lost its Group F opener to Belgium, but it earned a lot of respect around the world for its solid effort. Covers World Cup expert Alistair Corp was especially impressed with Canada's cohesive attack, which resulted in 2.4 expected goals to Belgium's 0.8.

While Canada delivered an emphatic statement of intent, Croatia's meek showing in a 0-0 draw against Morocco was a reminder of the aging status of their squad and the imbalance of a team that boasts a world-class midfield trio but little else.

He firmly believes Canada should beat Croatia based on Wednesday's results, but likes the safety blanket of Canada/draw double result to fend off disappointment.

Read Alistair's full Croatia vs. Canada picks and predictions before game time.

Packers Green Bay Packers vs. Eagles Philadelphia Eagles: Green Bay rushing attempts Over 22.5 (-115 at bet365)

The Eagles may have the best record in the NFL, but Philly isn't without its flaws. Nick Sirianni's squad has had trouble lately slowing down the run, and it could result in the team's second loss this Sunday.

Covers Senior Industry Analyst Jason Logan has seen the Eagles' rush defense get exposed in consecutive weeks and believes the Packers have the horses to ground and pound Philadelphia into submission. Look for Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon to get the ball early and often as Green Bay tries to control possession and keep Philly's potent offense off the field.
