I think Hamilton will try to run the clock in the second half since they have such a big lead, Winnipeg's offense is inept, so I don't see them putting up a lot of points.  Thanks.  CFL

Yea the only thing that will kill us is turnovers. I think we still go under for game too, but things change quickly. Hope for no turnovers unless in the red zone!

So, noone fouls down 11 with under 30 seconds and multiple timeouts to spare. Does it make it right?

Would you then also say that fouling down 5 with 15 seconds to play is 'incorrect' or 'unconventional' or 'something noone ever does'?

Similarly, should a running back of an NFL team take a knee before end zone if his team is up 1 point with 20 seconds in regulation, instead of scoring a touchdown that makes the lead 8?

Phoenix did the right thing. The fact that their situation was desperate enough for this to even matter less than 2% of the time is irrelevant. I would take a 1% chance to win the game against quietly losing *every game*.

And that argument doesn't even include the fact that fouling and giving the home crowd and impression of 'going down swinging' should help sell tickets for future games.

So again... why wouldn't you foul?

LOL you and I are way off on this one buddy. And believe me it has nothing to do with the bet. I lose and win thousands of dollars every day so one bet does not make me even flinch. With that being said I am just stating facts. Hardly ever will you see a team down that many that late and foul. Maybe one in a hundred. I am not saying it is wrong or right, I am just saying that 99 out of 100 times the under hits very easy. I went back all the way to last year and looked over their games. The have been in that same situation 7 times(down 7-12 points under 40 seconds). They did not foul not even one single time, and that includes 3 of the games they were only down 8. And last night they were down 11 which is a lot harder to make up than 8. And they fouled 4 fking times. They did not even foul once in the previous 7 times previously...NOT ONCE. LAST NIGHT 4 TIMES. So to say that was not a bad break for under bettors is not smart. I mean even in your miracle situation where they hit a 3 and get a steal, they are still down 8 with the ball so the best they can do is hit another 3 and lose by 5. And your scenario to keep the fans happy. Well how about bringing in some more talent for that LOL. I like you man a lot, but to say that was playing smart is not smart. That game was over with a minute to play.

LOL you and I are way off on this one buddy. And believe me it has nothing to do with the bet. I lose and win thousands of dollars every day so one bet does not make me even flinch. And to compare it to football...COME ON. And BTW, if you get a first down in FB, up 1, with 20 seconds left at the one yard line. You best damn believe that coach is not going to run that TD, he is taking a knee and getting the fuk outta there.

And you have been following me a while. To think that had anything to do with my bet is crazy. If I would have had the over, I would've came right into this forum and state how lucky I was and that I appreciated them for pushing the total since one of the players had the over LOL. You know that Muggsy!

I had under 76.5 either way. So in reality if they don't start fouling early it is the same outcome for me. Because they were down 9 when they started fouling. What pissed me off is when they were down 11, Bonner hits the top of the backboard with the ball and they could've easily let Seattle run the clock out. Instead they foul, that little skinny bitchh Bonner and DT3 the dike, pads their stats. LOL We are on the same team now let's get this tonight!

The comparison to football is kind of obvious. Taking a knee is a 100% win (with the exception of fumbling a snap and allowing the opponent to score, but that's a black swan event, one in a zillion), scoring a touchdown is maybe 99% win.

Likewise, not fouling is 100% loss compared to 99% (or whatever) if you do foul.

This will happen every 100th time, possibly more often:
    - 27 seconds to play
Foul. Two free throws missed. Timeout. Three pointer made.
    - 23 seconds to play
Steal. Layup. Down 6. Foul. One free throw missed. Timeout. Three pointer made.
    -16 seconds to play
Down 4....Anyone saying this, too, is a sigma event (one in a zillion) clearly hasn't been watching sports often enough.

My argument wasn't you didn't get unlucky. My argument is that Phoenix did the right thing. Perhaps this Pennell fellow is a little better at math than you give him credit for.

We will agree to disagree on this one. My take on this is that if you get your azz kicked for 3 quarters and 9 minutes, you are not going to outscore that same team by 11 points in 27 seconds unless you're playing NBA JAM. Anyways I see your point and respect it. We move on...

T-Mac vs the Spurs. I know it can happen and has, but my point is first those teams actually started coming back and then kept fouling. Phoenix was not gaining ground, and had just missed. If they had hit that 3 of course you foul.

I guess my point is that Phoenix had never done that before. The last two years they were in that same situation 7 times(most games closer than last night), and they didn't intentionally foul even once. Why now? Different coach? I don't know all I know is when do you give up. If we are going to look at the this way, why didn't New York start fouling when they were down 20 with 2:30 to go. I mean it's pretty much the same thing. 1 in 10000 you will get close. But I guess a 3, steal, another 3, two missed FT, another 3, a steal, a layup, 1 FT, a 3, another steal, another 3, one FT, a layup, a steal and a 3 and you're right there LOL. I alos have great chances to win the lottery tonight with one ticket so I might not be seeing you guys anymore.LOL
