I do well with hard court and ok with clay. I didnt realize grass is a different animal. First year here betting on grass and first tournament this week. 0 for 2 with 2 extremely small bets to test waters. Really thought Kessler could upend Zheng
Seems like the ball has a difference bounce on grass and can turn differently on the fly.
Anyone else feel grass is a challenge?

All surface changes are challenging to both the players and to us as gamblers. But the transition from clay to grass is probably the toughest.
If you're only betting small you're doing the right thing, with the ultimate goal being to have your "grass legs" under you by the time Wimbledon starts. And next week don't back any of the players who took the week off this week until they have one or two competitive matches under their belts on grass this season.

My opinion about grass: you have got to watch these matches, even ones you're not betting on, to gain the knowledge needed to make future bets. You don't get to roll up to betting on grass events without work under your belt and expect to win consistently. But then that's true of betting full stop. Learn the players who have good grass records and target them when they're paying well (even if it's not 'great' odds, because there's a reason their odds won't be great: the books know they're in the prime seat to perform). A great example is Raducanu. She's been all at sea ever since she won her US Open, but the one surface she's consistently done well on (when fully fit) is her home surface of grass. On overall form Zheng has been light years ahead of Raducanu these last couple of years, but for their coming clash Raducanu opened a small dog and has now moved to being a fave. Now that's not me saying Raducanu is any kind of lock (I think Zheng's a real chance), but my point is when a player likes a surface then all their troubles on other surfaces can melt away as being relevant. It's literally like horses for courses. There are sites out there that if you google a match-up will provide specific surface records. They're not hard to fine (TennisTonic is a good basic one).
