I have been reading these forums for the past few months and have been doing some back testing of my own and might be on to something.
In the first system I bought 3 points for all NBA games and with just the first 5 NBA teams i did so far they went 44-4 in the 2008-2009 year. (I took those same 5 NBA teams this year and went over the system and they are 23-0 so far)
In the second system I am trying I bought 3 points for all NBA games and with just 5 NBA teams they went 23-1 in the 2008-2009 year. ( With the same system for this year the teams are 4-0)
I was hoping to hear from some of the guys on here that study systems and are interested in talking over methods. You can send me a personal message to my inbox and I will respond or just post on here.

I plan on doing the back test on all NBA teams for 2008-2009. I have only completed 3 divisoins so far for the first system
This is the updated results I have so far.
(A) 142 wins (B) 57 wins (C) 23 wins 10 losses
So at 222-10 if you are a small player and play to win $10 every try you will be up $720. If you play to win $100 you will be up $7,200.
There are ups and downs to this system as most as you can see you have 10 losses but for players that can't resist not to play this might be the system for them. It's a high volume of games that will yield a winning percentage.
I will do system B now for the next 2 divisions.

I don't see how you would be up $720. According to my math if you are buying 3 points the odds are -170.
If you are attempting to make $10 on a 3 game chase, a loosing series looks like this:
A) $17 to win $10 - L - (-$17) (if win +$10)
B) $45.91 to win $27 - L - (-$62.91) (if win +$10)
C) $124 to win $72.91 - L - (-186.91) (if win +$10)
Now with 222 wins for $10 would give you $2,220.
The 10 losses would put you down $1,869.10
With an overall profit of $350.90. Which is way off from $720,
Do I have my math right or what am I missing?
This is of course if you used a traditional martingale money management system which is a broken system. In my opinion there are two elements required when putting together a "system".
1) Game Selection
2) Money Management
Once you figure out #1, you should look at different money management systems to figure out which one provides the best efficiency. When looking at efficiency remember to look at profit to loss ratio. I know there are a lot of advocates for the labouchere system. Sometimes it is best if you can think "outside the box".
