An interesting trend has developed over the course of the first half of the NBA season. It appears that the East is good for the money. Indeed, when an Eastern Conference team visits a Western Conference team, and is an underdog, the East is 53-26 ATS (67.08%). Not bad. There's perhaps even more good news. In the first 40 matchups the East was 24-16 ATS (60.00%) but in the last 39 matchups they have been 29-10 ATS (74.35%). This is the FIRST reason why I believe that the trend will likely continue. The SECOND reason is that, in my opinion, the bottom half of the Eastern Conference is A LOT better than the bottom half of the Western Conference but the oddsmakers don't seem to agree. Oftentimes, when "bottom East" visits "bottom West" the Eastern team is getting points, and as I see it, I'll take the better team as well as the +3. Furthermore, I've noticed that the oddsmakers seem to treat all "bottom teams" the same when it comes to these teams visiting the "upper echelon" of the Western Conference. It seems they believe that both Sacramento and Charlotte should be 13 point dogs when visiting the Lakers. Well I'm here to tell you folks that we can take advantage of that oversight. I haven't laid a penny on this trend as of yet. I prefer to wait until mid-season in most sports before tailing a solid trend. But now is the time. Tomorrow (Monday) night it begins with 4 games that fit the bill (with their ATS records noted):
(2-3) NEW ORLEANS -8.5 Indiana (5-2)
(3-2) PORTLAND -6.5 Milwaukee (6-3)
(1-1) GOLDEN STATE -5 Washington (2-0)
(3-7) LA LAKERS -4.5 Cleveland (2-1)
Of course, the point spreads are subject to change.
It's interseting to note that Portland is the ONLY Western Conference team with a winning record (there are 3 other teams with .500 records). The Toronto Raptors (1-4) are the only sub .500 team in the Eatern Conference.

With no disrespect intended isn't this the basis of the so called "Morrison System" with the exception of not buying the three points?
I personally have been playing the Eastern-Western and Western-Eastern system all season without purchasing the points and doing okay. I use a modified chase system and while I don't have the numbers on front of me I know I've had a positive return on investment.
Once again, no disrespect intended, I appreciate anyone who does the necessary research befoe introducing a system and am also on all your recommended plays.

I didn't say that I invented the system. I'm simply informing my fellow degenerates about a solid trend in the NBA and hoping that we can all profit from it. I've had some success patrolling these threads for winners and I wanted to give something back. Having said that, there's no offense taken on my part by your comments. This is an open forum format where, the good Lord willing, we can all help each other increase our bankrolls. Good luck on your (our) plays today.

Well the East couldn't get it done tonight going 1-3 ATS vs the West. That brings their season record to 54-29 ATS (65.06%). The only tilt tomorrow is SAN ANTONIO -8 Indiana.

What's happened to the Beasts of the East? Another one bites the dust tonight as Indiana lays an egg in San Antonio. The East's record now plummets to 54-30 ATS (64.28%). Is this the end of the domination? Only time will tell. The current lines for tomorrow are:
NEW ORLEANS -6 New Jersey
SACRAMENTO -3 Washington
The current line for Cleveland/Portland has Cleveland -1 but after their poor showing in LA the other night I wouldn't be suprised if Portland was favored in the end.

The East made a little headway tonight going 2-1 ATS. This brings their record to 56-31 ATS (64.36%). New Jersey couldn't get it done against New Orleans but Washington prevailed and so did Cleveland (a late comer to the party at +1 by tip off). The only early line for tomorrow is:
LA LAKERS -15 Washington
The Lakers were -16 favorites tonight in Clipper land and couldn't get it done. How can they expect to do better against the powerful Wizards? We shall see.
P.S. The Celtics are rolling again. I'll take the +5 tomorrow.
