What I do is only look at pitching. I look for a situation where one starting pitcher has recorded at least five decisions and won at least two thirds of those decisions. I also look for a an ERA under 4.00. These conditions are present in teams likely to win. However, there are conditions that must also be present for the losing pitcher.....
The losing pitcher must have an ERA of over 5.00 and have have won 2/3 or fewer of his decisions. He must have recorded at least six total decisions.
The system does not involve paying attention to any other numbers. Granted, I don't always follow the system as religiously as I should. I often will bet on an ACE pitcher that is struggling, if the other pitcher meets the criteria for the losing pitcher. So, while Derrick Lowe struggled in the beginning of the season, if he was facing a team with a horrible pitcher at the mound that might the above criteria, I would pick Lowe to win the game. What I like about this system is that the statistics overwhelmingly favoring one pitcher, and overwhelming working against the losing pitcher seem to help account for runs that might be given up by both teams relievers/closers, so that in the end, the winning team will often win by a large margin. I hope that makes sens to people. And if you have questions, I can definitely try my best to answer them. One more point I wanted to make is that I think this sytem works best if you play all the games that qualify for the system. What I mean, is that if you find that three games qualify for the system, but one game seems to be more in favor of the system than the other two, you should still play all three, and of course for equal amounts. Any other questions, please ask.

I like your thinking.I pretty much play the same way.I also look for if both pitchers have close numbers I will bet the underdog if I can get a good line. For example if I think in my opinion that the team is a -110 dog and I m getting -130 I will bet the dog even if I like the other side. I will get value out of that bet in a long run.
