I have posted a bunch of futures in a separate thread but will be posting daily threads with the plays. I loved Mexico today but got caught up at the gym and was not able to post it. But I like this next game even more and I do have the time to post it now so let's see how we "kick off" for the World Cup!
BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (SOUTH KOREA/CZECH): YES (-115)...BIG PLAY!!!: Right out the gate I have a big play but I saw this matchup months ago and was hoping for a short line which I got. In fact, I think the game might go over the 2.5 goals and there is a much more appetizing line there. But I will stick to my guns in a matchup pitting two teams that can put the ball in the back of the net and both with some top players in some of the best leagues in the world. The Czechs have not been to the WC since 2006 and will be very eager to impress while South Korea has some top players in Lee Kang-In (PSG) and Kim Min-Jae (Bayern Munich). While the Koreans tend to play lower scoring snooze fests, I believe that is more because of the competition they play out of Asia, many teams they seemingly are far better than.
The Czechs on the other hand tend to score often when they are motivated and healthy, which they seem to be on both fronts. Patrik Schick is a top scorer and I wouldn't be surprised if he got on the scoresheet as he has often for Bayer Leverkusen. Tomas Soucek has been great for Aston Villa and I also believe the Czechs can control the midfield which I personally believe will inherently dictate who wins this game.
I could potentially see a tie which is why I am not going to select a side but then again, a tie usually means, unless it's 0-0 which it certainly can be, that both teams score. And if the recent world cups have been any indication, it seems scoring is UP in the early rounds and then slows down as the more pressure packed games approach. Neither side will want to lose the opening match, and for that reason I can see a pretty open game.
As always, tail or fade, good luck to all...
