this is the only site, where if you mistakenly leave the browswer open before leaving and come back later in the evening, the page re-directs to some security warning with a big, red screen with an 'virus infection' message. cazzo!! what is it with all these ads? was hoping to get this up yesterday but h*ll with it. it figures, cause that 10-teamer FUN parlay over in Holland came in. anyways, nice start to the month I guess, whether that's a good/bad omen we'll see.
Serie A: backed off and went lightly after the return from Intl break. now with a 3-day turnaround theres quite some nice value for a bunch of matches for various reasons. for some dumb reason, i love this mid-week card.
FUN Play. (warning, just an fyi, i would NOT be suprised if we lost here)
Cagliari/Juventus - normally Id say this is bad spot. the annual trip to the island sauna is something most Serie A clubs cant stand. but everything for us is a "bad spot" the next 2-3 weeks (laughing). have about 9-10 players ruled out already. we just sleep-walked through a boring 1-0 win on Sat, a game which a relegation contender controlled for practically the entire 1st half & where I stupidly elected to take the O/U instead of the '+' HC initally going to do. prices have absolutely - and expectedly - nosedived to near evens. this is tempting, even for a seasoned vet, to ignore. (and the same feelings most of our fantasy group share) first of all, our bench is good enough to give 3/4 of Serie A a tough time; and I dont know WHOM Max is sending out there. Christian assuredly will be out, Kean might too. Mand got the nod on Sat & has flu, so I cant see him being used here; actually, the entire starting 11.... we got Milan in the Big Derby on the wknd and theres no way Max is sending out a full strength side for that 3 days before the trip to Holland. but before people go 'overboard' with our missings, theres still 5-6 guys whom will be out there tomorrow night whom will be on the pitch in Holland next week (now, whether the motivation is there I dont know, im not in the locker room) Cagliari are actually unbeaten during midweek this season 2-1-0, which is good news for them; but....... they havent beaten us in the past 16 H2H's; and Juve has won 8 of the past 9, and actually 11 of those past 16 were by 2+ goals, Christian was never around for those, and we have always rotated when visiting the island. short turnarounds favor the clubs with deeper benches and Cagliari spent a lot of energy over the wknd beating Chievo, a match where they knew chances for 3 pts and stretching their distance from the drop zone to 8 were a LOT better than this one. a RARE play here simply because the prices are too hard to ignore. not going crazy on this, just dont think we are going to sit back and let the opponent dictate the pace this time as everybody can kick their heels up and relax Saturday. smells like one of our customary 2-0 scorelines; could lose the rest of year and still come away with a healthy profit. Juventus -1.5 @+230, and lets throw an exact score 2-0 @+650 for fun
Milan/Udinese - didnt wait long for this one. even if im nervous about it. Donnarumma (GK) was annoited Gigis "heir apparent" by the media a few years ago; well...go check out video of Sampdorias goal 30 seconds into the wknds match and you'll get an idea of WHY the h*ll everyone is nervous about Euros in 2 summers. in any case, Milan need the points here (so does Udine); but Udine are brutal in these short midweek turnarounds and just havent had the bench depth to cause problems. with a 2 match losing streak, that trip to Turin this wknd looming, and the logjam in the table creeping closer you can pretty much be certain Gattuso has his troops super-motivated here; Piatek shouldnt have difficulty getting his chances vs a defense whom have conceded 8 goals in their past two roadies vs Juve & Napoli. Milan -1 @-111 (biggie)

Serie B: one thing which just doesnt seem to happen much anymore are those short-turnaround, midweek, draws in 'B'; just 6 of the 35 times thus far this year which is right on par with past 2 seasons. used to be an 'automatic'.
Lecce is "messing up" my plans. (laughing)
Benevento -1 @+104 (and lets toss a little more on this one)
Livorno to win @+135
England:
Watford/Fulham - interesting one. woudnt have noticed, or even bothered to look, if it wasnt for the prices. Watford squarely in that 'grey area' of season: in the midtable, too far from europe and safe from relegation. where motivation can be a big issue regardless what league one is playing in. and on top of that, theres that FA Cup Semi on the wknd. tho my "thing" is Italy, this is one of those scenarios which crosses borders and applies practically anywhere. im guessing their HC, if hes worth his salary, is going to rotate heavily; especially on 3 days rest. Mitrovic is out for Fulham, whom has pretty much been their entire offense this year. on top of that, that goose egg still there in the 'w' column. and sweet god, theyve already conceded 70+ goals with 14 of their 16 roadies conceded 2+. if Mitro was in there, I just might have been dumb enough to back them on the HC. in any case....
Watford TT over 1.5 @-140
Czech Cup Qtrs: (tailing)
Slavia + over 2.5 @-120 - Slavia going for their "treble" after knocking out Sevilla from UEL. thumped this opponent twice (3-1 & 4-0) already this year and motivated for this one.

BOL Spec. Similar thoughts in Serie A today. If mitrovic was in, I might have take a stab at Fulham ml, for sure the over. But I see them struggling yet again, sadly.
Hope you sweep!

yoro, DTP pardon. saw both your replies in Sundays thread. just didnt have much time.
that goose egg is keeping me from backing Fulham.
was hoping Ajax & Porto dropped pts last wknd so I can fade the living daylights out of them this wknd. (sandwiches). but they both won. things are getting interesting around europe.
and though the media doesnt really spend much time talking about it, those relegation battles all over the place are practically as big/important as any UCL involvement when you take under consideration some of the clubs finances.
Wednesday:
Empoli/Napoli - crazy prices with visitors whom just thumped Roma on the road 3 days ago. but Empoli suffering from the 'Juve Hangover'. 2nd worst defense vs the 2nd best offense, reverse fixture was a 5-1 thumping, where Napoli ran it up late. motivation is huge here for the home side as they are now back into the relegation zone; and with Napolis entire focus now SQUARELY on Europa, Ancellotti going to rotate heavily the next few games. Mertens is out, Hysaj too, so theyll be sitting with Insigne. this is one of those "who cares" games for Napoli but Im not backing the 2nd worst defense in the league in this spot. I wouldnt dare touch the HC here as Milik & Mertens banged in goals during injury time in reverse fixture (see next match below) 1st half over 1.5 @+125
Roma/Fiorentina - mentioned back in January immediately after the match was done of how I had this date circled. forget current form, forget how cr*ppy theyve been playing and literally blew chunks last weekend in the 2nd half vs napoli. back in January, Fiorentina put up a touchdown in the Coppa Qtrs at home (7-1). when you are up a man, have a 4-1 lead, and its the 75th minute..... and proceed to bang in 3 more for good measure --- those kind of "IOU's" rarely go unpaid out here. earlier this year Fior did the exact same thing to cellar dwelling Chievo running it up at home and blowing them away 6-1 with several late goals; reverse fixture was level heading into the 80th minute. wheels starting to come off with Viola after that 1-1 draw over the wknd. European spot fading, HC Stefano suggesting will leave at end of season, their star Chiesa already looking at other offers. as much as i dont like them, it's a nice spot here.

Genoa/Inter - what the.......???? Inter have lost their last 5 visits here (and havent won in 6 visits) on top of that.. were cleansheeted in 5 of those 6 matches too. the "circus" is still going strong also, after the clunker this past wknd Spalletti took some time out of his life to rip into Icardi via media. stripped of captaincy, faked an injury, his wife/agent stormed out of a contract meeting with words which probably arent allowed on this forum. h*ll, they needed to got thru his 3 lawyers just to get him back to training. well, he's back... sort of. Genoa will be missing their captain due to suspension but theyve been playing decent of late prior to the wknd. a little concerned that Inter has 5 teams within striking range of them for that coveted UCL slot but its hard to look past their troubles of late. ill gladly take Genoa +1/2 @-115 and lets toss some on the outrights @+330.
SPAL/Lazio - PASS. asking a team to win two consecutive roadies in a short time is dicey. though pries seem decent, got to pass on this one.
Murgia(SPAL) to score anytime @+700 - a tip from a buddy and tossing a little on this. IF he gets the start. kid was born in Rome & came up from Lazios youth system and is currently on loan to SPAL; played for Lazio back in sept before being shipped off which he was none too happy about and dearly wnts to come back to his hometown. motivation, motivation, motivation.... he'd love nothing more than stick his foot up their butts if getting the chance.
Frosinone/Parma - their loss over the wknd is like letting the air out of a balloon; 10 pts from safety and still with a goose egg in the 'w' column at home. wont be long now before thy first future cashes in; Parma not yet out of safety, 8 pts so theyll be gunning for the 3 pts here (their schedule is incredibly difficult the rest of the way as 6 of their 9 remaining are vs teams fighting for european slots). prices for the home side have dropped like a brick locally so I have to take a pass on the sides. reverse fixture was a 0-0 clunker, that wont happen this time around.

well, there goes a good chunk of the parlay from yesterday. so, its going to be THAT kind of month ehhh? not sure if you watched but Donn (GK) almost did it again in the early going. always keep the alka-seltzers within arms length when he is out there. then pulls up lame on the corner and gets replaced.
at least the Czechs hit. heading off (late) to catch the Sauna match. and hopefully Benevento makes up for Milan.

before I start today, this racism stuff is getting out of hand. (perhaps that isnt even the proper phrase..... "it's becoming more frequent"). and not just in Italy too; personally, I think FIFA/UEFA and the governing bodies need to start taking a firmer stance. I mean, theyre the ones whom CAN wield a lot of power to at least give out proper punishment which could at the very least, make people think twice before their actions. but ignorance cannot/shouldnt be taught through laws and punishment alone. its sad to see some of this stuff.
adding:
this has shaped up to be one of my "moron or genius" days. so we'll see how it shakes out.
with Milan suprisingly dropping points yesterday (i wasnt expecting that); it changes a few things overnight. now we have 5 teams with their ears pinned back, simply because everbody KNOWS whom theyre playing this wknd. so theres a mass of teams in that logjam having a beaut of a chance to gain at the very least - 4 points on them. and when the dust settles, ystday is probably going to be the game Milano kicks themselves about wishing to replay.
Torino/Samp BTTS @+125 - initially planned to pass. but winner pulls within 4 from that coveted CL slot (tho the draw looms large) Samp are bombs away on road, 2nd highest Total goals, Torino have just 1 draw at home (which is the polar opposite from their roadies). Mazzarri(Torino HC) has stated to the media that hes going for the win while Samp with Serie A leader Quag are only behind Juve & Atalanta in goals scored on road. and this has hit in 5 of the past 6 meetings the previous 3 years. bottom line is, Milan dropping pts yesterday suddenly makes this a strong play.

Spec I was gonna post something about the racism thing but you summed it up well. I wonder if it’s getting “worse” or if it’s just getting more coverage? You know what I mean? Regardless, there should be a zero tolerance punishment for it. And, not raggin on your team but what was with bonucci’s comments?? (I believe it was him) you can think that and maybe even say that to Kean but that’s private talk. I was floored when I read his opinion, QUOTED, in an article. Maybe it’s a different attitude in the locker rooms in Italy but that was shocking to me.
And to be fair, the Cagliari coach said the same thing but I expect that from the opposing side, even if it does make him sound like a racist douche. Still no excuse on his end either.
Similar plays today. Not sure that’s good for you or not seeing as I’m in a funk lol

fyi, a boatload of money immediately came in on Lazio within the hour of Milans draw. im not a fan of juiced up road favorites, especially one whom is playing consecutive matches in 3 days time; and especially one whom hasnt won 2 straight roadies since September. but in some cases, I "trust" line movement (at least locally). since SPAL came to Serie A, they suprised Lazio in season opener last year with a 0-0 draw (even tho giving up 30+ shots). the following 2 H2H's Lazio has destroyed them 4-1, 5-2. and "Mr. Selfish" (Immobile) LOVES this opponent; scored 6 of the 9 goals himself. so I will gladly take this prices as a 'w' here put the flame right on Milans butts in the table as they also have 1 less game played. Lazio -1 @+135
England:
Tott/Crystal - a little leery of this one. the past 7 meetings the BTTS hasnt hit, and 6 of them were 1-0 scorelines (either way). Tott need the points here, that 4th CL slot for next year is becoming a logjam and luckily for them they get a HUGE break in the scheduling as their next match isnt till when ManC visits next week. so Im expecting them to go all-out for the 'w' here. Crystal in no mans land; too far from europe/safe from relegation; things are a lot less stressful. and this is Totts 1st match in new stadium I believe, though it doesnt guarantee a darn thing its extra motivation. however, leery of this angle as quite often it takes a team some time to get used to the settings.
the key stat for me here is Crystal has found back of net in 10 straight roadies, which I think is pretty impressive considering this league. at worst, this is a 'push'

Grey, regarding Rolando. trainers are really tight-lipped on it. im almost positive its the hamstring. and you probably know as well as i do that those things are freaking impossible to predict/evaluate. theres talk of Max resting him for the Derby too (which will get us fined probably) but if he is also ruled out for next week? im not a chest-thumper like some of thy buddies (laughing); all i can say is we're still a pretty decent squad w/out him. just watch what happens to the line if he is ruled out. there might be some value there. honestly, Id be more worried if this was Giorgio or Bonucci. said this before and will say it again here, our chances of making it to the finals would drop off considerably more if either of them are injured instead of Christian.
DTP in some ways, im curious to know how professional athletes are treated in N. America. not just from the media stories and stuff. from afar, the accpetance appears to be much better; is it because the laws are more severe? i mean, i cant imagine an athlete out there getting thrown bananas at his feet as he takes the field. but its a topic which can start a volcanic eruption/firestorm of feelings & opinions which is probably better off not being discussed. but geez, we are headed to an 'ugly' collision in some places in europe.
I "get" what Bonucci was saying, theres better ways to approach it. what Kean did was just making the situation more toxic (if thats the right word). Matuidi went ballistic in the locker room and stuff like that can tear a team apart. but a part of me is sitting there and sayin "does anybody really need to be treated that way?" i mean... where does the line get drawn? in some ways my mind is saying... if you ignore the fans, in some ways its like youre 'accepting' that this stuff is going to happen. and that isnt right either. didnt Sterling make the headlines recently for this same stuff?
so this is what i mean about the governing bodies perhaps need to to be more harsh than simple slap on the wrists towards the clubs.

Chelsea/Brighton - purely 'situational'. as I just got done replying in another thread and its an angle id use no matter where the country. Brighton got the FA Semis on Sat. so this is a nasty spot for them & cant see them really caring here. looking at their sched theres 3-4 other matches to focus on to keep them afloat away from the relegation line (though I have them in a future to drop). but also, Chelsea in a dogfight for that 4th slot. and Sarris boys are tied for the fewest goals conceded at home. decent price on this. Chelsea -1.5 @-105

Spec again, well said. I agree with everything you said. And you’re right, an athlete in the US would never get treated how some of these European players are being treated. There’s obviously racism here, but sports doesn’t usually end up being the platform it gets thrown on. I don’t need or want to get into how the media over inflated things but there’s a reason you don’t here a lot of talk about racism in sports through the media here, it’s because it’s not very prevelant. Even when it does happen, it usually is handled significantly better than I’ve seen it handled across the pond. And that makes a big difference. Sports seems to be the one thing that still brings ppl together. We love our players, not matter the color of their skin and hate the other teams players for every thing but the color of their skin. It’s a beautiful thing lol

Good read on Chelsea Spec thankfully I read your post before it was too late lol. Impressive read.
City just look unbeatable right now. They have the ability to score one or two and shut it down and coast... without their best players consistently in there. Spurs did me wrong today, but hopefully they make up for it against City and get some kind of result. Would go A LONG way for Pool’s title hopes if they did.
Mbappe, I’m hoping that’s directed at Spec cuz I only play copa lib totals and I tail spec on sides... and sometimes totals lol.

well, that was fun. pretty much ended up splitting everything right down the middle:
Empoli/Napoli 1st half over 1.5 @+125 (W)
Roma to win @+104 (L)
Genoa +1/2 @-115, outrights @+330 (L, L)
Frosinone/Parma over 2.5 @+130 (W)
Torino/Samp BTTS @+125 (W)
Lazio -1 @+135 (L)
Tott/Crystal over 3 @+108 (L)
Emmen/Ajax over 1.5 @-133 (1st half) (W)
Chelsea -1.5 @-105 (W)
Livingston -1 @+135, over 2.5 @+133 (W, L)
Genoa's red card hosed that play immediately. the 'BIG' winner for the day has to be Torino (and on a personal side too as i have them with two nice futures) so, quite happy with our cross town brothers.
DTP I love that comment, "....We love our players, not matter the color of their skin and hate the other teams players for every thing but the color of their skin. It’s a beautiful thing lol" sadly to say it isnt always that way out here. people should be judged by their actions/behavior and not skin color. Bonucci didnt mean any harm with his comments, (his history proves this) he just went about trying to xplain it in the wrong matter. boy, did that blow up in his face in a hurry. would discuss more but its getting late, pick this up another time
Mbappe appreciate it, im not always accurate and Serie A can make you feel like an idiot at times. on paper, some of those results today look like major suprises. wish I had the guts to take Empoli, i will probably still be thinking about that lost chance tmrw
didnt bother to look at any of the Copa Sud games, things get a tad too 'dicey' when youre heading into the mid/lower table teams in those second tier leagues out there. Copa Lib is plenty enough to keep the aspirin consuming steady.
