Baltimore has 17 players on injured reserve, more than any other team in this postseason. The average postseason team has only 9.4 players on injured reserve, and the Steelers have just three.
* The Steelers retained some of those zone-blocking principles under new offensive line coach Mike Munchak, and having suited up together for 74 of 80 possible starts this season, the Pittsburgh offensive line has even developed some experience and continuity running those concepts. Tate’s not going to be the team’s primary back, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Steelers use him on some of the same stretch plays he ran in Houston. And likewise, given that Tate has only had a few days to acclimate himself to black and yellow, expect the Ravens to identify Tate’s snaps as likely run plays. * Baltimore needs to hope it gets a pass rush on Roethlisberger, because it has no hope of holding up in coverage if it fails. The Ravens have allowed the league’s second-best QBR (1.0) when they get pressure on opposing quarterbacks, but when they fail to bother the opposing passer, quarterbacks have put up an 86.2 QBR, the eighth-worst figure. Much of that comes down to personnel, as the Baltimore secondary has been ripped apart by injuries at cornerback. Consider that we played a game of “Ravens Cornerback or The Wire Cast Member?” on the Grantland NFL Podcast last month, and since then, the Ravens have lost two more cornerbacks to season-ending injuries. They have no fewer than five cornerbacks on injured reserve. It’s brutal. * There’s probably a big running play in this game for the Ravens. Baltimore’s resurgent rushing attack has really thrived on big plays, as 14.1 percent of Baltimore’s carries have gone for 10 yards or more, the third-highest rate in the league. The Steelers have the 17th-ranked rush defense by DVOA, but their problem has been giving up big plays. Only the Giants gave up 10-plus yards on runs more frequently than the Steelers, who did so on 15.2 percent of their opponent’s rushing attempts. |

Anyone who has actually watched them play in December (which is not you) knows this. The steelers front 7 has come alive which has greatly benefited the play of their secondary.
Case Keenum tore that Baltimore secondary a new one recently and they hung 25 on them. Last time Pittsburgh put up 43 and 6 tds so how will that banged up Baltimore secondary respond this time?
Baltimore has not beaten anyone this year. The Pittsburgh game was the 2nd of the year. If anyone is using that as a litmus test.. I will take any action you want on Baltimore.
Flacco and the Ravens have repeatedly wilted against winning teams down the stretch. They even got PASTED by a mediocre Houston team with the division still in their grasp. They are going to just turn it on now and channel their past success? Well, even their good teams that faced the Steelers, lost...every time in the playoffs. The Ravens will not be able to protect Flacco with the pathwork offensive line they have out there. The Steelers line has matured into a very good one. They will protect Ben and he will find his weapons while exploiting a terrible secondary. Pittsburgh's secondary has played much better and will have the advantage of pressuring an inferior Joe Flacco. Yes, Flacco is vastly inferior to Ben.. |

I am usually at work during the week.. But since I took 2 weeks off for the holidays. I am bored a heck and remembered this forum. I like to check and see what others are doing once in awhile and it is the playoffs... Where men are separated from the boys on the field and off(betting);0 |

Detroit +7.5. The Lions have the #1 rush defense and Murray has a broken hand. This would be a tall task for any back but considering Murray's propensity to fumble the ball with healthy hands.. this has to be a factor in any bet laid on or against the Cowboys. Yes Romo has looked great against mediocre defenses down the stretch but this has been in large part due to Murray's presence and Romo's ability to hit big off the play action. I expect the Lion's to have over-the-top help on Dez Bryant while shutting down Murray. Williams, Beasley, and Whitten will have to beat them.. Though the Lions offense has underachieved for much of the season...Stafford and Megatron have started to click and with Bush back and healthy out of the backfield, Stafford has another weapon to look for along with Tate and Ebron. Bell has also come on as a viable option at RB. The lions could very well win this game as Romo and the Cowboys have been known to choke. They are overrated against poor competition.. Detroit has been in every game this year and will not be blown out by anyone. Pitttsburgh -3 (LOCK) Detroit (take half of what you in and roll with Detroit) |

The Cleveland offense has been doing absolutely nothing which leaves their defense on the field for 70% of the game. Even good defenses get tired when they never get a break. The Ravens are outgunned in this game. The Steelers they saw last time, when they were severely pummeled..is the same team they will see this team with a much better defense. Not only did the Steelers crush the Ravens on the scoreboard but watch the tape of the game like I did.. They beat the up physically. Timmons violated their RB's and the Steelers were the aggressor from start to finish. Baltimore is 1-6 vs. teams with winning records. Pittsburgh swept Cincy in convincing fashion while Baltimore was swept.
You cite Joe Flacco as a Super Bowl winner? What about Ben? Ben is an MVP candidate this year and has been to three Superbowls and won two while coming one drive away from winning another while playing on one leg. Ben is twice the competitor and QB Flacco is in is fondest dream.
Again..the Steelers will easily cover this game. |

I don't think so. I am going heavy on them. Seattle was the team I went with once they got their defense healthy, they covered virtually every week. Seattle, New England, Pittsburgh, and Green Bay are the most complete teams left IMO. They are also the teams I trusted over the course of the nice run I have had. |

Pittsbrgh -3. I only play games that have clear advantages one way or another. I also started after week 6... Something I have learned over years of gambling. I have pages of statistical info but it comes down to this.. The Ravens and Flacco in particular, have been trending downward in performance while the Steelers are trending upwards. The Steelers pass an secondary play ia tending upwards in conjunction with the youth movement in the starting lineup ie. Blake, McCain, Tuitt, Williams, Spence, and Jarvis Jones. The Steelers defense, much maligned for most of the year is playing at a top 10 level and trending upwards in the last 4 weeks. The Ravens secondary is absolutely abysmal and are playing mostly 2nd stringers back there. Going up against Ben Roethlisberger and his formidable weapons this weekend ...well, let's just say, things could get ugly. Bell is going to play and will be practicing Friday. Tate was signed as insurance in case Bell is hurt going forward. Even if Bell was out...which he won't be.. The Ravens have very little chance to stop Ben. Bryant's ascension has given him the deep ball and this opens everything up for Brown, Miller, Wheaton, Moore, and Bell out of the backfield. Ben had 6 Td's vs. Baltimore a few weeks ago.. I expect 4 Saturday. Baltimore has both offensive tackles playing out of position and this bodes well for Harrison and Worilds on the outside... Lebeau will be coming after Flacco hard. It is easy to say you have gone 14-1..... and be full of crap. I am not. I will prove myself.

Wisconsin -21. Their offensive line is mammoth and OSU has absolutely no chance of stopping them. The spread will be covered on by halftime and increased in 2nd half.

Nova -6.
They are hitting their stride and PC is a terrible team. After watching PC at West Virginia I am convinced they are one of the worst teams in the Big East. They cannot shoot. Nova will blow them out by 13-20 points.

What a bunch of cheesehead morons.
Yeah, I think I will stick with the 2 time Super Bowl Championship team that came out of the MUCH tougher AFC. New England, Baltimore, and the Jets are better than Green Bay. I cannot wait to collect. I have gone perfect the last 3 weekends and am risking half on this play.

Memphis.
No Boozer = Randolph and Gasol dominating the paint. Memphis could blow the Bulls out but will definitely win this game.
