Ghim 2020 Made only 5/16 cuts 2021 made 17/24 cuts with 9 Top 25
Ghim -125 v Kirk Ghim was a standout Collegiate player at University of Texas (teammate of Scheffler) where Ghim was a 3 time All American and won the Ben Hogan award his senior year. He also was runner up in the US Amateur in 2017 earning him a spot in the Masters 2018 where he finished as low amateur and T50. This is only his 2nd season on tour but earlier this year he went to Sunday at The Players near the top of the leaderboard before fading. I like that he is trending up as he has made 4/5 cuts with 3 in a row (18/32/54/MC/14) and he was 18th here last year! I also like that Ghim took last week off so is fresh while Kirk went to England to play in the Open where he MC and before that Kirk last events was 12/MC/26/69/MC/MC Last year Kirk was 41st here and as I said Ghim was 18th. But Ghim is a better player this year than last.

I'm gonna add DJ -120 v Reed To begin with I'm not sold on Reed who I feel is overrated. I thought DJ looked good last week at The Open. He started slow but finished T8 while Reed MC. DJ was good. DJ was #1 for a long time and is better than Reed when DJ is playing well. DJ has a W/D here last year (not sure why) in his only start at this event. Reed didn't play this last year but 2019 Reed finished 23rd

Got very lucky on Ghim. Thought it was a great spot for Ghim as he was trending up and was fresh (didn’t play last week).
Rd1 Ghim was pretty good at -3 and Kirk was -1 so looking good but Ghim sucked rd2.
Luckily Kirk imploded to hand me a gift. I had Ghim large so wow! Maybe Kirk got a little tired who knows as he played the Open last week. Kirk needed a bird on his last hole rd2 (the tough 9th hole) to make cut and may have taken a chance he might not have normally taken? Double bogey Ghim wins
I didn’t mention but liked Louie v DJ rd2 and would’ve won had I bet but didn’t bet because I had DJ v Reed and I didn’t want to root against DJ. That was dumb because I had a very bad feeling about DJ after watching some of Rd1. DJ was tied with Reed but even the announcer after DJ made a bird on 18 to get to -1, said “maybe that’ll get DJ interested” as he didn’t look interested at all on Thursday. Plus DJ’s brother/caddy wasn’t on the bag this week as he had tested positive for Covid. Wish I had known that as I wouldn’t have bet DJ. Reed sucked as I thought he would (just made cut at -2) so unfortunate to lose that bet. Big letdown post Open and DJ just didn’t look like he gave a crap. Probably had to be there for some reason or other (sponsors?)
