So, with all the problems we currently have, you guys think that somehow, the White House has orchestrated this in hopes that it will create a diversion?

I mean, God knows that someone putting a bullet in the White House, while the President is away will grab front page headlines for long enough that people will forget all of the other headlines.

It is this type of mentality from those that hate the President thatv actually help him by reminding the moderates just how bizarre and extreme the anti-President crowd has become.

I see, it is a PSL, yes this thing is dead on from about 1,000 meters and can shoot about 2 miles.

It is based on the Dragunov which was the state of the art in sniper tech in the 70's and 80's. It is essentially an elongated AK-47 that shoots the same 7.62 X39 ammo. Because of the added velocity of the round and the elongated barrel this thing is a pretty nice sniper rifle.

If he had a reliable scope it is 100% do-able.

People are going to rally around an unpopular President because someone shot a window at the White House while he was away? &#xD;&#xA;Got it. &#xD;&#xA;And as for obtaining access to any guns, it is sad and true that if someone tries hard enough or wants to bad enough, they can pretty much get any gun they want. Good laws make it harder but often times those just don&#x27;t work.

It is not very hard to get one of these guns. In West Virginia you can go to the local Sports goods store and either buy one off the shelf or get one ordered.

Just looked at some maps, the shot is doable, the only thing that bothers me is that they say the shot came from 16th and constitution, if we are talking about taking a shot from that street corner, it would be a pretty tough shot. Not the distance, but all the shit between that corner and the WH.

I wish I was in town so I could walk this out.

President's park is between Constitution and The WH where the shot was said to have been taken.

As I recall from Mid November through the new year there is generally a giant 40 foot tree that would block the view.

Not sure if it is up yet.

If it were me, I would have used the elipse visitor pavilion about 200 meters from the south lawn gate. If he were to make an escape from this vicinity, and had to ditch his vehicle. it would end up on 16 and constitution if he were heading for rt 1, 395 rt 50 or any main artery coming out of DC..

Not sure why he left the vehicle. Maybe he thought the bridges would be shut down.

Not necessarily, he would have had to scoped the rifle somewhere, he couldn't just pick it up and shoot, but from what I have heard he was not that successful in his endeavor, meaning he may have just bought the rifle (or stolen it) and popped a few off.

To hit the side of a building you would have to be no marksmen, this guy screams amateur. If you look at the google map in my last post, and bring it to the street level view on 16 and constitution you can see the actual view that they say this guy had. What bothers me is the police presence in presidential park and all along constitution ave. for that matter. The place is a fortress. The police presence is pretty visible even in the google maps, there is a patrol car that is generally in that vicinity, + 5 motorcycle cops about 200 meters down constitution ( I know I worked in the city on 16th street for about a month, and you can't even drive through anymore getting off of Constitution because the police presence is so high.

I do not think there is anything afoot here.

The only thing that I can really think of is the fact that this could be one of the "feeler" missions that you hear about all of the time. They say that they ran similar missions prior to 9/11 to test the viability of their actual plans, to see how police and media reacted, and to look for measures taken against said action.
