He sues the widow of a navy seal

Why?  The seal claims that Ventura had said "not enough seals have been killed"

The deceased cannot be sued because he is not with us anymore.  So he sues the widow of this Navy seal.

    What a douchbag

This is a battle between what is allowed legal and what is right.

The statements made by Chris Kyle were proven to be false and defamatory. Thus, JV had a legal claim. And the only claim that could be made was against the Estate.

I'm interested to see if he takes the money or gives it to charity. By doing so, he can claim he only wanted a finding that the statement was false.

    Time will tell.

No,,I'm not looking for a fight..

Why is it,, that you seem to always take what I say the wrong way?

GG wanted to know why there wasn't a credible link for discussion  and I simply informed him of the reason...just passing along the word that's all ...

You are not convincing in the deception you are shovelling.

I warned you, that is all you need to know. If you want to make stupid comments to pick a fight, I wont entertain it but you will be boxed if it continues.

    Time will tell.

Now I am confused?  Can you copy and paste or not?  I looked at that other guy's history and it didn't seem excessive to me.  Did you mean it was a history under another alias?

I mean to start a thread---I understand during a thread to reference something, that is different.  Thought you didn't want a lot of threads started that way though?

Repetitive cut and paste limiting threads are of no value and this guy with his current and past name did and does this, that is the only issue.

SS is pushing it, everyone knows it and there is a difference between quoting a source as a part of discussion and making MULTIPLE threads with nothing but a cut and paste link and a line of gibberish.

We want more content on the first page, making many many useless threads reduces discussion because it pushes threads down. This also happens during peak times during most sports events..so during NFL gameday we have to sort through just ranting or emoticon threads, shovel them out so our members can find good information or discussion. Its similar to that.

    Agree with Money-
Who else can he go after?
Slander me- and I'm coming after you, your estate, whomever...
I assume she's collecting royalties for the book- so she can pay for the inaccuracies of her late husband-it sucks that he's not around to defend his words- but that's how it goes sometimes....

I don't think Jessie will give it away, or maybe he will make some donation to charity.  He claims he has lost speaking gigs and book sales because of it, so he will probably pocket a chunk of it.

But giving it to charity will pay him back multiple times.

    Time will tell.

What you said is factually true... or I assume it is.  I was not in the courtroom, and neither were you.

Ventura is a public figure.  He chose to be a public figure... he cannot claim victim status to this fact.  Public figures are "defamed" constantly as any politician, actor, musician, or wrestler or former governor can attest.  They cannot sue every time they feel they have been defamed.  Yes it is their legal right to do so, but it is simply not in their interest.

Mark my words... Ventura chose poorly.  Not only to sue the estate of a decorated veteran - a widowed woman.  But to allow the PR nightmare to make a mockery of himself.

Yes he is broke, and I assume he could use the cash.  For a guy with his name, he could make appearances to countless events to keep an income.  He chooses to be a stubborn fool, and allow his testosterone and anger to make crucial decisions for him.

I will guarantee you that if he were contrite, and honest man, he would choose to apologize for his silly behavior, and just allow all of this to pass.  He is stubborn, and he will not do so.

After you get past the legal facts and such... just remember this - He shot his mouth off to the wrong guy in the wrong place.  He got knocked out in a way that would send most all of you cheering if you were in that spot at that time.  He felt like less of a man, so he decided he would get even.

and now you have the rest of the story... as the Late Paul Harvey would say.
