whats with all the yelling and screaming..

not a bad call at all, look at the replay, not saying halak dove but def intrfrnce, halak falls on his ass unable to kick the pad out on a shot ...so...what,

 the caps got theri PP with 2 left , and what ---- 1-33 on the PP ...nough said..up 3-1 with 2 home games....pardon me...who lost the series??? HALAK took the series back is what it was...n e way... i can drfit on.

Yeah but they should have had to rely on that one call they should have throttled those slubs at home with game 7 on the line.

P.P.S you missed the point as always (for reference, it's on your head but I digress), that call is NOT MADE IN A GAME 7 when all the chips are on the line, I don't give a shit if there are 10,000 replays showing the incidental contact and even if the contact was actually even semi-legitimate. Then again, as I've already stated, you are a bigger Homer than Simpson)

Try learning to read, ass-hat and not come into the end of the conversation thinking you're a fucking intellectual colossus for pointing out the same shit that's been pointed out ad naseum earlier (and responded to several times) I already mentioned I didn't bet on the game and don't give a shit what happened in a Game 2 or 3 (where any bad call can easily be overcome by either team, given there are plenty of games left). An egregious game 7 call is 1000 times worse than 25 egregious calls in earlier games.

It has also been argued that the Habs final regular season points total is not really indicative of their worth. What other team, except perhaps the Wings, was as decimated by injuries?

As for defence, i'm sure you've heard the saying that defence wins championships. Or, in this case, a series.

 

 

 

Right you are ... most people fail to notice that the habs had more overtime games than other teams. They also led in PK for a while in the season. Anytime a team gets a loss in Overtime to me you have to view it as a win when looking at potential threats. If you do that the habs would of been sitting number 2 or 3 in the conference. Not to mention the caps were like 1-30 in the PP. I don't care how good your goalie is ,,, if you can't score on the power play in the playoffs? you arent going anywhere. Call it Halak all you want but Gill and Gorges had a ton of blocked shots themselves. Gill who did nothing alllllllll season long ended up being the reason their defense was so stellar. The other thing to consider is caps goaltending is not as good as most teams. Anytime a goalie only faces 20 shots in a game and lets in 2-3 goals , chances are that you need to get a better goalie.

I posted a thread on another site asking opinions of fans from various teams, and the response was 50/50.

Just like I stated before, the call is 100% correct if applied according to the rule book. Is it called 100% of the time? no. It is based on the ref and the goalie's reaction. Halak fell on his ass to so it was called back.

Refs blow calls all the time. If you watched the replay then you should of had the sound on and you would of heard the announcer say that referees dont have the privelage of getting replay on a call like that. By the way the entire panel that night agreed with the call with the exception of bob mackenzie and to be honest with you hes just as much a habs hater as you are. You clearly are the most worked up individual on here and maybe you should stick to the BOOINS forum and talk with guys that are in as much dilusion thinking they are going past round 2. The comments on the betting werent directed to you they were directed to anyone in general who bet on the capitals getting 1.6 odds on the money. if you are going to rebuttal back now with your preschool name calling Im not interested in sitting here making you look like a joke all day. I make my living heckling people in the crowd so feel free to come get yours if you feel like having everyone on here laugh at you with all the crap I will routinely use on you as anyone else. So, now you're the hockey version of Rasmussen/Zogby, hmm? lol. I'm sure the degree of accuracy in your 'little poll' (no pun intended ;) ) was akin to a blind squirrel picking lotto numbers by how bright a chestnut is. Sorry 50-50 doesn't cut it when it's a game 7 call - please look up cause and effect and get back to me and tell me that's not a HUGE emotional let-down and a momentum shifting moment in the most important game of the series (or wait, don't bother, there is just no point in arguing with you because you are a 100% biased homer)

RinkRat, yes, it seems like an obvious comparison to make given the fire power and regular season prowess/playoff futility of each of those teams... I'm not convinced the Sharks will truly be removing that monkey this season either...

That call is made 9 out of 10 times this year. They protect the goalie as much as they do qaurterbacks these days. Washington didn't lose on 1 call they choked and also more importantly got out played by Canadiens. So if anyone wants to put blame some where take a look, Caps were up 3 games to 1 and had 2 cracks at it at home rink but couldn't get it done. So stop the whining about 1 call and give credit to Halek and the Habs for an incredable comeback!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One last thing, I already mentioned, although I am a huge Bruins fan, I don't like their current style of play (hopefully with Savard back they'll get rolling more on the offensive side). Still, that is the only way they can play at this time, as they simply don't have the super-stars/offensive stalwarts of other teams. So with that said, what's the fucking Hab's excuse? (seems like they have an abundance of goal-scorers/offensive (in more ways than one, by the way) types of  players - yet they manage a total of 14 shots! now, THAT'S pathetic)

The Brett Hull in the crease goal that won the Cup for Dallas against Buffalo in overtime was a way worse call than last night's. But that crease rule back then was pretty stupid too.
