A Muse is a person, often someone close to an artist, who serves as a source of inspiration and motivation...
The term also has a broader meaning, referring to the goddess of art and music in Greek mythology, with a modern extension to any person or thing that inspires creativity...

I don't get this hire at all.
His main coaching experience was with the US Developmental team that plays in the USHL and he also coached the Chicago Steele in the same league. He won a gold for USA at the IIHF U18. Not much here to be honest. No pro head coaching experience just an assistant. This is a classic Dubas hire lol
Dubas seems to give off the "I'm the smartest guy in the room" vibe. Of course we know this is not true at all but when your plucked from the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds at 29 and go right into the Toronto Maple Leafs I can certainly see how he might think that he is.
On a side note are we sure that Adam Silver isnt doing double duty as coach of the Pens lol They kind of look the same.

I remember when the Hartford Whalers hired a guy as an Asst Coach under Paul Holmgren. Some dude no one had ever heard of. Only had 6 or 7 years Coaching in OHL and Juniors. Very much a Dan Muse like hire.
They fired Holmgren after like 15 games, and promoted this feller to Head Coach. He was fired after 5 or 6 season, and then he bounced around the league for 30ish years, Head Coaching 6 different Franchises, went to 3 Stanley Cup Finals, winning only one of those three appearances. He accumulated the third most Wins in NHL history, and is also known for accumulating the most Losses of any NHL Head Coach ever...
He is also the only Coach that is on track to possibly catch the great Scotty Bowman for most Wins, as he is only 57 years old, and coaches one of the most talented Franchises in the NHL today...
Name that Coach...

@gotime
I agree. I think he would have taken Canes back to the Finals when they won it if they had not Fired him. He stood as the Winningest Coach in combined Canes/Whalers history until Rod the Bod broke it last season.
Don't think FLA is gonna let him go for quite a while after this run of 3 straight Cups Finals...
