I want to hear fair trades, not ridiculous trades like Riemer for Tavares. That will not happen. Also let's hear about what any of you would do to make this team the team that it deserves to be. That's like Detroit making the dance the last 22....management moves to make the leafs like the yanks if you will. Contenders every year.
    Should be fun

I'll start with one....I would love if we could get phaneufs contract and his concrete feet out of here ASAP. I would trade him for Dustin byfuglien...and take on some cash for every year of his deal. Need a new captain on this team and I'd start there. I wouldn't make Dustin captain if your think that. It's a fair deal.

Now they both share some similarities in slow players with heavy shots. Paul Maurice likes conditioned players and Dustin is always over weight at camp. So this might work. Leafs need to eat some contract. But I'm okay with it because I think Dustin is a smarter player than deon.

Reimer cant be traded, hes going to be in the Free Agent market this summer to find a new home. Guys that got to go are Clarkson, Gleason, and maybe Franson.. Wont be surprise if Kadri or Gardiner is gone.. But of course everything has a price for trades.. We have good players but for a fair price. We need better defense men... and penalty killers. I love the 2012-2013 team when we had Leo Komorov.. That little guy can hit and kill penalty! Hopefully we can sign him back into the NHL next year! As that being said.. I would like to trade for another Star Defense men.

While the Leafs collapse is very amusing for me, the good thing for Leafs fans is you fire Carlyle.

The lion and the tiger may be more powerful, but the wolf doesn't perform in the circus.

With that out of the way start by firing Carlyle, no moves will matter if they don't do that. Phaneuf needs to go but Nonis will have trouble admitting he screwed up because his ego will get in the way, so i'm afraid you're stuck with him. Clarkson was another massive failure of a signing so you can buy him out or trade him for next to nothing if you can find another team stupid enough to take on that contract. I am convinced Kadri's IQ is below triple digits so send him packing and get what you can. There are guys they can sign cheap to avoid playing people like Paul Ranger.

the first paragraph is sad, but true.what the hell does management care as long as they are raking in the dollars.fans have to form a union and strike. as far as a team stupid enough? I would contact garth snow as soon as possible

I feel for Leaf fans, if Nonis wanted to help his team at the dealine, he could have at least brought in some puck blocking defensemen. You are not going to win getting outshot in 90 percent of the games this season. Bernier/Reimer facing 40 plus shots a night is a joke. The fact Carlyle is a former defenseman is even more of a joke. Kessel is that token leaf high scoring player like Sittler, Vaive, Sundin who won't win anything unless he gets traded. Leafs and Habs are in that Chicago Cubs ghetto where even if the team tanks, the buidling will be packed, a decade waiting list for tickets, tons of tsn media exposure and jersey sales. Business is business wether the Leafs make the playoffs or not.

there is a lot of money to be made if a team like the leafs makes the playoffs. a case could be made that ownership doesnt care about winning a cup a long as they make the playoffs. tickets prices go up, boost in sales etc...so much money to be made by making playoffs...leafs ownership isnt pleased with missing the playoffs..thats ridiculous....

this collapse has been predictable to anybody that sees value in advanced stats

i agree flutie...maybe another first round exit gets therrien fired since his contract is almost up but listening to bergevin he likes stability and he still thinks therrien makes players better (pk would have never won the norris without therrien!!) how murray and bouillon get regular minutes is beyond me. beaulieu needs to be called up...mobile dmen lead to success....having gorges, weaver, murray, bouillon and a young tinordi is pretty much going to equate to zero offense

leafs cant evaluate talent too well. steen , tlusky, beauchemin, stajan, white, macarthur, stalberg stempniak, collaiacovo, frattin rask blake seguin hamilton eller. all could be in a leaf uniform. They have high picks every draft and crap out each time.

I agree with what you are saying but its not really evaluating talent, its more developing it and using players the right way, which is impossible for a team like the Leafs with their streak of hiring bad coaches and terrible overall management.

Carlyle has to go, there is no way around it, Eastern conference was relatively weak this year (its better now though, with philly and rangers playing better hockey as of late) and the leafs def had enough talent to make the postseason.

The biggest holes in the team are Clarkson and Phaneuf, but who is dumb enough to give up anything decent for those terrible contracts?

The Leafs, Canucks, Flames, Oilers, Jets, Habs and Sens can hire Scotty Bowman, Joel Quennville, Ken Hitchcock, Darryl Sutter, Lindy Ruff and nothing will change.  The biggest insult to Torontonians is mlse hiring of tim leiweke.  Look in the dictionary for the word facade or impostor and that describes him the best.  The latest has him "laughing off great collapse talk."  Really tim?  That funny eh?  If i made your guaranteed millions for being nothing more than a front, i would laugh at the unsuspecting people that were supporting me as well.

I know and what makes it even more hillarious is that the Leafs are worth more than all 22 american teams combined and still can't win.  Its like a Pinto beating a Maserati.  Happens every day

This is not true and far from it. The Leafs are worth more than any other team in the league but just the Rangers & Blackhawks combined are worth more, a lot more actually.

Woe is us. Its too bad that we are finding different ways to trash the Leafs. Funniest was Kadri's IQ...sad, funny, but unfortunately true.

ok, i'll get suckered into this. I don't see any team doing the leafs a favour by taking Dion and his ridiculous new contract. Leafs just signed it, it hasn't even taken effect yet and now you all want it gone, fire nonis for offering it. And fire Carlyle because he was, after all, burke's man.

2 huge collapses in 2 years, wow. But like other posters have said, the building will remain full no matter what, so at the end of the day; it's the fans fault.
