13,000 season tickets already sold is great to bad its all the corporations buying them up. The building will be half empty most nights.
You learn more from losing than winning. You learn how to keep going.

It was all about that half a billion dollars for the current owners and the huge TV markets in the area.
I believe the only way Quebec will get a team is a relocation. And heaven knows there a few teams that are prime for it.

I believe Phoenix and Las Vegas are about 3.5 hours apart. Is this area large enough to sustaine two NHL hockey teams? Did many people drive ftom Vegas to watch hockey in Arizona? I guess the NHL has done their homework on this.
Whats interesting is the conferences are now unbalanced but if you were to move one team from the west to the east it would seem to make sense that it would be the Coyotes.
If franchises are 500 million wouldnt the NHL want this cash for another franchise in Quebec City? Unless Quebec City is a fall back for a franchise that is struggling. Gary will NEVER EVER admit that any of the current franchises are struggling. Remember the Thrashers move to Winnipeg seemed to almost come out of know where.
The dollar is a concern but not as much of a concern when you have an established corporate ownership team such as Quebec Corp or Trunorth for that matter.
Quebec City is a fall back for one of the weaker franchises imo

Remember this has more to do with TV markets than fan bases now. While we all know Quebec would sell out every single game the population and TV markets can't compare with the Western U.S.
That's why they keep putting teams out there
LA is the 2nd biggest TV market in the U.S. It's 17.5 million people. Canada has a total of 13.9 million TV households. Yes you are reading that correctly. One market in the U.S. has more TV households than all of Canada !!
And actually the Quebec City television market is on the lower end of the TV markets in Canada.
It will happen one day, but as we all have said, it will be a relocation and not a new team.

Las Vegas may have a lot of hockey fans but they have other allegiances.
Las Vegas is a transient city look no further than that kid from covers, colleggambler, that moved there.
It's full of loose cannons and vagabonds
When Carolina and Nashville show, it will be half empty, in 2-3 years the appeal will completely wear off.
Too much to do in Las Vegas, tourists won't care.
This decision shows how badly run the NHL is today. This is a desperate move to be first.
Once the Raiders move there, the NHL will be an afterthought.
Crazy how they dismiss the Nordiques with a huge cult following not just in Quebec but all over North America.
They could have waited for Seattle to get their act together.
Talk about ignorant. Vegas has over 2 million residents, we don't need tourists to fill an arena but even if we did, we get 43 MILLION TOURISTS a year.
And of course we have other allegiances we haven't had a team to root for, DUH. Vagabonds and loose canons? Lol. What a tool.

August 29th, 2016. well it is official. the Las Vegas team name is gonna be either Knights, Golden Knights or Silver Knights. I don't think that Army USMA "old grad" owner even listened to any input from the Las Vegas public. HOW the HELL "Knights" ties into Las Vegas is beyond me. I think it is pretty freeking LAME

most of twitter comments on the proposed names are pretty negative 3 or 4 people mentioned "Las Vegas Aces" which is my first pick because it has a tie in to Nellis AFB "Fighter Pilot Aces"

Their name should be.... Vegas Fix
Could be the best team name ever.... degenerate gamblers buying their merchandise would cover the teams payroll by themselves!
