Ive been trying to bet College Basketball games for the longest time and never know what type of things to research when making bets. Please help me out!! :(

Stats aren't everything. Think about possible motivation factors (rematch, rivalry, etc.) and scheduling (b2b, 3rd in 4, etc.). I also take into consideration if a team is playing well but losing vs a team that is not playing well but winning. You can get good odds on betting the former or fading the latter.
Recently I've started looking at scoring chance%, high danger scoring chance%, and goal% associated with each. Mostly from naturalstattrick.com because it's the easiest for me to compare stats from last 10 games, last 25 games, and for the season. They also have a Corsi game flow for each game so you can see (even live) relative possession over the course of the game.
For example, Penguins won 4-2 over the Lightning last game, but the Lightning seemingly dominated the first 30-ish minutes of the game, yet were down 3-0. It evened out after that. I might attribute that to the Lightning being rusty not being able to find the back of the net and they should be fine next game (I like them to win vs the Islanders).

Team stats don't really mean much to be honest .. a lot of it is situational and, like other have mentioned, finding ways to limit the juice you pay for favs. There are a lot of weird things in hockey like certain teams simply being unable to beat other teams regardless of their record / recent play. For example, Caps have beaten the Bruins like 15 times in a row (I forget the actual number but it's close). I would check each starting goalies' numbers vs the team they're playing as each goalie seems to excel and suck against certain teams for whatever reason. Hockey is hard due to the influence of luck on the game and, in my opinion, you have to limit the number of plays you make to come out on top in the long run. Good luck
