hey moron you obviously do not understand the concept of hockey so maybe I can explain this to you.

The object is to score more goals than your opponent and you can not do that if you never have the puck.

Obviously you're out in left field when it comes to this sort of thing NJ. If you understand the game at all, you would know that it's up to the defending team to pressure the offensive side or the team with the puck. Furthermore, the Lightnings delay brought back fond memories of the worst team in hockey for creating this type of bullshit hockey and it was none other than New Jersey and their coach Jacques Lemaire. Yeah it was called TRAP, so I can fully understand why or where someone like you comes from or obtain's your sense of thinking on how to play the game. In fact that series that year went down in the records books as the most boring Stanley Cup round ever! If you don't understand the elements or tactics, then go get yourself a book at your local library for future reference!

It's funny how the actual hockey players think one way and fans that don't fully understand the game think the other way.

Its up to the team with the puck to try to score! The Flyers had the puck and were standing still in their own zone with it. How is that Tampa Bays fault? You guys are f'n clueless

By the way which team scored more goals tonight?

they were mocking the terrible way in which tampa plays the game of hockey. The 1-3-1 trap is an embarrassment to hockey, they wanted to show their fans how dumb they play the game and they did

You are right about this NJD, it is up to the team with the puck.  Laviolette sucked out and was penalized accordingly.

You are right about this NJD, it is up to the team with the puck.  Laviolette sucked out and was penalized accordingly.

What i don't understand is why Boucher would feel the need to play this way with all the offensive weapons he has.  He obv has no faith in his team and toi put on this terrible display of hockey on nat tv is regrettable.

Why is it up to the team with the puck to score?? The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins sure but you don't have to score. A team can circle the puck like a circus show in their own end and hope for a 0-0 tie, it's in their right. Makes for a horrible game but they can still do it.

If tampa wants to do that and the other team wants to sit and do nothing go right ahead. Soon no one will watch TB play and they will not do that any more.

Oh, and the answwer is Tampa.

Literally everyone in the league feels the same way, yet because you hate the Flyers, you obviously feel the need to blame them.

    Oh the irony.

The answer is it was nobodys fault.. One team was holding it hoping for the other to chase.. The other was waiting for the team with the puck to come at them hoping for a turnover.. It (sounds) like this game was a standoff.. You really can't blame either team but to be honest I have to agree with NJD a bit here.. Team with the puck has to do something with it.. It's not up to TB to chase to puck.. Let the team with the puck come at them.. Shitty hockey but obviously these teams were playing to the under.. Wink wink..

It was more up to Tampa do something as their the home team and it's their job to entertaine the fans while not the Flyers...
Also, at first I was wondering what was up with the Flyers when they held on to the puck that way, but I understood it pretty qick...

I acutaly think the worst thing is the refs blowing whistle and complaining about it is the worst thing cause there is NOTHING IN THE RULE BOOK about what Flyers did not beeing allowed...

Should pitchers in baseball give up homers on purpose because the fans will be entertained by them?

First off, pitchers giving up HR's on purpose is not the same thing -- 2nd, it was you who complained about Flyers not trying to score...
I think they headed into that game beeing happy if they could get a point on the road and so no reason for going all out so the Bolts could get those odd man rushes they where hoping for...

In football I'm happy if my team just win (I don't care about how..), but if I pay for a ticket to watch the Flyers  and they play defensive at home it's a different story --- ex. I enjoyed Flyers 8-9 loss to the Jets more than if they've won 1-0 or 2-1 cause not every game is crucial at this point so I set entertainment higher...
