 That is another possibility and one that I don’t disagree with. We also don’t know these people as humans. Maybe Pete Carroll likes gambling. Maybe he’s a poker enthusiast or a blackjack player. In that case he probably does know the spread and maybe he does think about doing it for his fans. Who knows? It’s not impossible. Not necessarily a rigged outcome but it’s possible that he did want to cover the spread for whatever reason.

That was probably the worst beat of my life and I've had many. Rams were winning the whole game and not only Lost the game but lost the cover with 0 time left on the clock. They were kicking field goal to win the game. What are the chances it gets blocked and then ran back 60 yards for a touchdown when the eagles just needed to stay down after recovering the ball.  It was a $4k swing for me
