The WWE....I mean the NFL...is run by one of the most controversial commissioners in sports....EVER.    People scream...they should get rid of Roger Goodell.   Are you kidding me?  He is hired by the OWNERS and works for the OWNERS....who are making the most money they have ever made before.   Jerry Jones recently noted....even though ratings are down, we have multiple networks lined up to bid auction style for the rights to televise these snooze fests.   They all have learned a things from the POTUS(like him or not), but the guy knows how to turn a nickel into a gold mine.   The Apprentice was NOTHING but an advertisement for the Trump Organization and Mr Trump was paid MILLIONS to have his business organized on TV, where other businesses have to pay to advertise their businesses.   With TV and Twitter(another free media forum), he was able to catapult himself to the Presidency.

A fool in another thread said, Lets try to change the result of the SB.....THAT would be like changing the script for any of the OTHER soap operas on TV.   People watch THOSE to see how the drama unfolds...just like people will watch the SB for the same reason.    Vegas wins every year at the time of the SB.....you want to win?   take a list of the prop bets down to your local bar...and take a survey of which way people think those prop bets play out.    You will get PLENTY of props that garner votes in the 80% or higher range...and then go against them.
I don't want or need the $100 when NE covers.....tell me a year when the underdog has covered every game in the NFL playoffs except one and I will show you the yr. the underdog has covered the SB.    The underdog in this yr.'s NFL playoffs is 9-1 ats so far.

Personally, I was all over the Eagles as soon as they beat MIN. However, I am reflecting a bit more. There are some points I am considering, as I DO subscribe to game-fixing or manipulation, etc.

    1) The NFL has taken major PR hits this year and lost lots of viewers--so they say. They need a feel-good story to distract, divert and regroup.

    2) The biggest figure ever in the NBA was...MJ. He has 6 titles to his credit. Brady has 5. There have already been segments on talk and sports shows comparing the two. Will Brady pass MJ, etc, etc.

    3) We hear about behind the scenes strife in the Pats organization. Two backup QBs let go for peanuts. "It's all on Brady now".

    4) Brady does what VERY few QBs have at his age. All but secures the MVP award at age 40. Could do what NO QB has done since 99, I think. Win both MVP and the SB.

    5) Brady releases this vanity, self-promoting documentary series. Basically puts himself out there for some ridicule if they lose the SB.

    6) Kraft is highly instrumental in getting Goodell his extension--so their "beef" was pure window-dressing to throw us off the scent.

I just think Belichick is out of NE after this season, and that this will be a gift from the NFL

I think they--as always--know something WE don't. I don't think Brady--who is notoriously reclusive and media-shy--puts himself out there unless he knows the Pats are winning on Sunday.

Any thoughts ? I haven't decided one way or the other yet. I DO like the OVER in this game.

PLAYA, they know because they see the cards and we don't. It is like playing at the poker table and they get to see everyone's "hole" cards. They can manipulate the outcome and can script it to entertaint the viewer. The Superbowl is the most viewed event in the world. It will be full of drama this Sunday.

I share similar view as you listed above and more around NE covering. I am leaning NE but haven't decide on how to bet it. I, however, will not bet big this Sunday. There is always something to bet on and it does not have to be the Superbowl.

    Good luck this week-end.

TRUE THAT. You know, I used to argue on here till I was blue in the face about this subject.  In no way, shape or form do I think I know it all. But THIS, I know for a fact. All professional sports where money changes hands, are manipulated/fixed. byt let us stick to the NFL.

Often, guys ask for "proof". I always say, no amount of proof will ever be enough. Tim Donaghy comes out and says the NBA is rigged, and guys respond "oh, it's just one guy. And he is a degenerate and a liar". Well who the heck did you expect to blow the whistle? David Stern himself ? The naivete in sports fans is both alarming and disgusting.

WHY do I know the NFL fixes games? It's really ultra-simple....

.....because they CAN......and with NO legal consequences to deal with....ever. They are literally insulated from the Sports Bribery Act. They EVEN ARGUED THIS OPENLY in court, guys...........basically, they called sports fans stupid, loyal sheep who would continue to tune in even if "hypothetically, they did fix games".

Super Bowl LII - Philadelphia Eagles vs New England Patriots @ Minneapolis, MN (NBC)
    New England Patriots ML (-193)

    Risking $965 to WIN $500

The Patriots will not be behind at the half and they will lift the trophy.

I really love this thread...Good read. and Good luck with Pat's Money line play....GD...buddy.

This is my script , if you care to read....

You are right about New England will Not be behind, but I think Tom Brady and his company will be short on 2nd half of this game.

                   Q1  Q2     HT  Q3 Q4

    Eagles        7   0     (7)   14   3   =24

    Patroits      6   10   (16)   0   7    = 23  final.

See you guys next year......and good luck....all

Between Winsnow and Raptor, who got the better prediction?
I think Raptor is a bit better.

Eagles beat the Pats by 10 points at the half
NE beat the Eagles SU but fail to cover the spread on the 2H.
