This should be an incredible game to watch. I figured I would start this thread early since this is probably going to be the best, most anticipated game of the week, with the most in terms of playoff implications besides. T
I have some futures tied to future SB matchups between the Bills/Ravens vs the 49ers, which although a long shot are still alive. More importantly, I have Mike Vrabel at 10/1 to win COY and although the major books have him as the current favorite (DK -200, Bet MGM -150, Ceasars -210), Kyle Shanahan (+200) and Mike McDonald (+750) are not too far behind. Vrabel was the runaway favorite turning around an abysmal Pats organization after Brady and Belichick.
Much has been made of the Patriots easy SOS (#2) but if you actually look at the SOS, the easiest schedule according to Warren Sharp belongs to the 49ers.
This game will be an excellent chess match between offensive guru Kyle Shanahan and the defensive genius Mike McDonald
49ers Injuries
The 49ers are currently riddled with injuries. The line has them as a 1.5 point FAVORITE at home. George Kittle will likely be out for the game with an ankle injury. We saw Trent Williams leave the game early with a hamstring injury on the early Purdy interception. We know the 49ers record without Trent, and now, facing an elite Seattle defense and defensive line. The line opened as SF -1 and has now flipped to Seattle -1.5, with more money and tickets coming in on SF after a big time prime time win against the Bears. If you like the Seattle side, i believe you will want to get ahead of the line move as I could see this line touching 2 or even 2.5 once it is announced that Trent Williams and Kittle are out for sure.
Spencer Burford
This is the replacement at LG and Left Tackle. Does anyone remember this guy? He missed the key block on Chris Jones in the SB in overtime on the play where Brandon Aiyuk was wide open in the back of the endzone, and Purdy was flushed and he had to throw the ball away. Does anybody think that he, Colt McKivitz, and Connor Colby are going to be able to stop this Seattle defensive line? I think we see pressure on Purdy all game, and unfortunately for the 49ers, they will not be facing a much more elite Seahawks secondary that I think will find a way to get stops and create turnovers.
Revenge
This is also a revenge game from week #1. Seattle lost to the 49ers 13-17 and the 49ers were completely healthy at the time, not riddled with injuries. I worry about the 49ers ability to generate a pass rush without Bosa and Mykel Williams, and I think Sam Darnold and company will tear this secondary apart with time in the pocket. We saw how difficult it was for Chase Lucas to cover the bears WR all game after Upton Sout went out of the game. With Stout and Renardo Green out, Seattle will isolate Chase Lucas all game and pick the 49ers defense apart.
Seattle also boasts a 7-1 road record, they will have no trouble playing in SF in this divisional matchup for the #1 seed. I cannot underscore the importance of Trent Williams and I think his absence completely changes this game.
