@Rush51 Of course I agree. That Buffalo defense has been soft for years and failed in key moments over the years. The great Matt Milano blah, blah, blah. That inability to stop the Chiefs from marching down the field with only 13 seconds left in the playoffs was unforgivable years ago. A squib kick would have probably run off 5 seconds at least. The William and Mary fab duo were let go in the same year. Who could have predicted that?
You also dont have your players playing 40 yards down field, protecting the endzone when kc only wanted a FG.
Go find the over head video of that drive and you will laugh at how the bills players were lined up. Receivers didnt even get bumped off the line.

I get what you are saying. I am not disagreeing that it is disappointing that they do not have a SB yet — it is.
I am saying that when you go up against an alltime elite QB and coach — including Spagnola — you have to play a near perfect game. The when you have won one or two playoff games already by doing that — it is very hard to expect your team to do it another time against even better competition. Yes, it matters to have a great defense and QB and all of that. But to beat a Brady or Mahomes, or even a Burrow, you have to have all of your units play completely up to their potential.
It is nice to have Cook. He is good. But the NFL is not as much of a running league anymore. A RB being out is barely a blip on a spread, for example.
Allen having competent receivers is not good enough. He needs an elite one or two. The issue is still the same — he is a good QB; he is not an alltime elite QB. So, he cannot overcome some of the deficiencies the elite QBs and coaches can overcome.
I think he will get a SB. The top 3 QBs are looking as if they have peaked now.
So, maybe soon they will only have to play ONE very good playoff game to get there and not TWO or THREE in a row.

For example, if Allen were playing with Houston’s defense or Cincinnati's or the Ram’s receivers I think he almost certainly could win 3 playoff games in a row.

It's a tough business. A kicker misses a game winning field goal or extra point, your starting QB goes down, other key injuries happen, an official makes a horrible call, or doesn't throw a flag on a blatant PI.....teams fail for many reasons, but it's the head coach that's held accountable. The Bills would've been in the Super Bowl last season, had they been using replay assist when they played the Chiefs. As I said, it's a tough business.

When you've got a generational talent at QB and can't even get to the Super Bowl, that's a problem. I always thought McDermott's teams were undisciplined, and it showed in the lack of results.
It was the Bills luck to have to face generational talent Patrick Mahomes 4 times in the playoffs.

Just the fact that we've had to question coaching decisions and big games so often makes it clear that the time has come.
Beane should be gone as well. Recent drafts have not been strong. He did pick a winner with the Walker in the middle this year. He may develop into an all pro. Cole Bishop has matured into a very good pick from last year who also got a lot better as the year went along.
Beane was not smooth in his presentation of why we didn't draft a wide receiver, and one can only imagine what would it be like if we had Waddle out there instead of Keon Coleman against the Broncos.
The final straw was the bonehead call of running that left 2 seconds giving an unnecessary free three points away before half and that's exactly the amount of points the Buffalo Bills lost by.

The 13 second loss was the one that was unforgivable where nobody realize the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. We're guarding the sidelines when they have three timeouts and 13 seconds left? Wow.

As a defensive guy that McDermott was, at some point don't you have to rise to the occasion when it's needed most ? ( i.e. in the playoffs)
Bills were atrocious defensively against Chiefs when it mattered most in the playoffs, giving up 32, 27, 42, and 38 points to them.
