I think they have a legit shot at the last spot. Let me preface this by saying I'm a Steeler fan. Let's look at the facts. We have 2 teams at 8-6 (Balt & Den). There are 5 other teams at 7-7 (Jax, Miami, Hou, NY Jets and Tenn). Obviously Pitt has to win out to make it. They got a little momentum back this week. So as a homer I'm going to say they win out (fingers crossed). I don't think Pitt can beat Baltimore in a tie-breaker (I could be wrong). Couple that with the fact that Balt is a game ahead and should beat Oak week 17 and let's give them a playoff spot. That leaves the Steelers fighting it out with Denver, Jax, Miami, Hou, Jets, and Tenn. If Pitt wins out you can eliminate Miami and Tenn with head-to-head wins. Let's look at the Jets first. I think they have the toughest road facing Indy and the Bengals. They should lose 1 of those. Jets are done. Now let's look at Hou. They face Miami and New England. They too should lose 1 of lose. Miami can do Pitt a favor and eliminate Hou this week. Hou is done. Let's now look at Jax. They go to New England this week and could get eliminated. They then travel to Cleveland week 17. Obviously the New England game is very important. Let's just hope New England takes care of business at home. Jax is done. That brings us to Denver. Pitt needs to make up 1 game in the standings. If they do, they own the tie-breaker due to a head-to-head victory. Denver goes to Philly and then has KC at home. Philly must win this week. Philly has clinched a spot and this worries me a little. They'll still play tough though. Let's hope Philly takes care of business.
So, in summary, Pitt needs to win out. That will be tough but not impossible. They are facing 2 teams with playoff aspirations. Good news is the Baltimore game is at home. The other key games are 1. Denver at Philly this week 2. Jax at New England this week 3. Hou at Miami this week 4. Jets at Indy this week and finally if Hou beats Miami this week 5. New England at Hou week 17. Pitt really doesn't need any upsets to happen if they can beat Baltimore and Miami.
Start waving those towels folks. First round match up would be with New England or Cinncy. Anything could happen in either of those match-ups. Then it's off to Indy. Last time the Steelers went there in the playoffs things went pretty well. I won't speculate who it will be in the AFC championship but I like the Steeler's chances against San Diego or Baltimore. Especially if all this pans out and they have the momentum. I think the Super Bowl will be a rematch between the Steelers and the Vikes. That could be scary. But we will just have to wait and see on that one.

Can't believe you guys pulled that one out......500 yards 4 Ben..Unreal.Ravens coming off of 2 easy games the last 2 weeks...the status of Webb rookie starting corner plays a huge part in the game..Not sure how bad he got hurt yesterday..GL ...we owe U guys from your 3 game beatdown last year....

I know I'm being a homer and this is the time of year when things never play out like they are supposed to. But it's not like they need a double digit dog to win or anything.

Really needed The Jets to lose, now they control their own destiny
Do you really think Marvin Lewis is gonn ago into NY next week, playing to win, when they already have #3 or #4 locked up? No way will they want ot play Pittsburgh 1st round.
Same goes with Belicheat...think they lay down vs Houston and Houston has them in tiebreaker (so does Jets)

I think Belichick will really try to beat Houston seeing as he may face them in the frist round of the playoffs. Cinncy will play hard too. They need to get some momentum back.
