When I listen to NFL Network Radio, ESPN, or read national articles online, I have noticed a conspicuous absence of support for the Miami Dolphins. They are still not even being discussed in AFC playoff scenarios. Everyone also thinks the Ravens will win and probably cover too this weekend. But don't disregard the benefits of a quiet genius like Adam Gase might be shaping up to be, don't overlook the fact that a pretty darn good defense exists in Miami and they are playing like a team, and realize too that Miami is getting two offensive linemen back this week even though they were able to weather the storm last week and find a way to hold on after a big league. NOW, IF ... and it is a big IF ... IF Miami can somehow find a way to beat the Ravens this weekend and get to 8-4, watch out. Because they come back home to play a very inconsistent Arizona Cardinals team in a very winable home stadium scenario with a buzz around Miami that has not been there in many years, and they will be 9-4 with at least two very winable games left against Buffalo and the Jets. It all begins this weekend against the Ravens. The disrespectful media silence will only help this team. Ryan Tannehill is beginning to look like a solid quarterback and the running game has been awesome with Jay Ajai and especially when the o-line is not too battered. In the NFL, anything can happen, and it usually does, and there is every bit the chance that this Dolphins team will be the surprise of 2016 ... again, it all starts this Sunday at 1pm.

I'm pulling for your dolphins (my best friend is from fort lauderdale). I'm banking on the return of your 2 O linemen will be a difference maker because without Parker it's going to be tough passing the ball against the ravens back 4. I see 1 to maybe as much as 3 picks in Tanne's future if he gets into a position where he has to throw to much. I want to see the Jay train control the clock! FINS UP!

While Parker is good, Miami still has plenty of weapons including Jarvis Landry, Kenny Stills, Ajai out of the backfield, and even a couple decent tight ends ... plus Miami is run first scheme and even Tannehill is great at running ... losing parker for a game will not sidetrack them. I think of Parker more as a luxury ... he is also still learning.

I don't follow personnel changes, but suuma was 100% correct when he stated that MIA would improve when their OL got healthy. They have now won six straight games.
However, Jeff Sagarin only has MIA rated #20. MIA's strength of schedule is only ranked #26.

Be careful here. The line went to 4 and that's weird line movement. I'm not playing this game, but man I pray the fins win because that will be 7-0 for da boys if they can get it... It's gonna be tough.

Excellent write-up! IMHO the Dolphins will cover or win straight up if that o line gives Tannehill time to throw, as I don't think the fins will be able to run the ball against that Raven front seven. I also agree that this is a HUGE game for the fins as they definitely have a shot to go 9-4 next week. They then have a very winnable game at the Jets to go 10-4, but if Buffalo is still in the hunt they'll probably lose in the snow and cold there to go to 10-5. Then they play New England at home in a game that could be meaningless to the Pats, but if not I've got the fins losing there too to finish at 10-6 which still might be good enough for the 6th and final seed. So I definitely feel they MUST win this weekend to have a serious shot.

So much weighs on that Phin Oline, everything goes when they are healthy. Most importantly they eat clock on offense when that Oline is working it. It should be tough to run on Baltimore though even with a healthy oline. That Raven run D looks absolutely frigin filthy if you ask me.
I see a 2 yards and a cloud of dust type of game. Hard D on both Sides w/ both teams QB's finding it hard to get into a Rhythm.
I'd have to side with Gase as a play caller over Mornhinweg.
One thing to consider is the temperature. What's the weather going to be like? If I recall correctly the Phins have a poor history when the Temps dip below a certain #.
I love the under and lean dolphins + the points. The Ravens Imo should not have a hook on a fg when they are so offensively retarded.

Nice discussion all! This Ravens game is HUGE for Miami, and if they win, and extend that streak to 7, 8 or 9 games, we're eventually going to be looking back to the 1980s or even 1970s to find a comparable run. I'm pretty sure Miami never won 8 or 9 in a row in the 1990s or later, so we're probably going back to Miami's 1984 Super Bowl season ..... ohhh .... did I dream a little there .... lol .... let's somehow see if they can eke out a win in Baltimore first!!!

Booger McFarland called the dolphins his sleeper team 6 months ago on Sirius NFL channel . I hated listening to that bloody soundbite over and over again but looks like he knew what he was talking about

Such an unimpressive win streak vs bad teams with a lot of luck. This is the same dolphins team that could hardly get a first down for 56 minutes vs the rams. If the rams shut their offense down completely, you gotta think the Ravens front will do the same. I've been hoping for the move to 3 all week, but I'll still gladly lay the 3.5 if it comes to it.

The guy who posted it doesn't know what it means. He's just regurgitating something he heard someone else say.
What does your system say about this game? Have you released your top five picks yet? Enquiring minds want to know.
Doctor Success, Sorry for the delay. I just got back to my laptop and looked at the Miami/Baltimore game. Very interesting indeed. The Super Contest line for this game is Ravens -3, and this is the line I also use in making my own Super Contest picks, and for reporting my 5 top picks of the week in my exhaustive long-term study of the system. At Ravens -5, the data very clearly shows that Miami is the better pick. It is not even close. However, it just barely fails to make my top 5, so it will not be one of my 5 picks for the week, but it would definitely be my 6th pick if there were 6 picks in the contest. In fact, it is barely not the 5th pick and depending on how you analyze my data (it is complex) you might come to the conclusion that Miami is the 5th pick, but I am calling it my 6th best. On the other hand, I also analyzed this same game with a line of Ravens -3.5. In this scenario, the Dolphins ARE INDEED THE NUMBER ONE PICK OF THE WEEK. So my data is showing that if you can get a line of Ravens -3.5, you are smart to jump all over that and -4 is even better. CONCLUSION: Data from my system (based on 8000+ games) shows that Miami is clearly the better pick and resoundingly so if the line is Dolphins +3.5 or more, and even at +3 it is a pretty solid line, just not one of my top 5.
