I have lots of reasoning for this pick which is gonna be my only one, but I can't be bothered writing it out.
In NFL i always play moneyline on favs under 3 and take the point with dogs under 3 and that is something you should do even more in preseason because they will happily play for a draw in a tie game.
Laying points in preseason is not how you want to live your life if you are playing several of them.
BUT, as I am only playing one pick (which i did last year and hit) and I think the Steelers will be a mess, I am sort of splitting my bet in two, laying the -2.5 for 1 unit and playing the moneyline for 2 units.
Texans have a lot in their favour in this matchup. Just look at the trajectory they have had since they took Stroud vs the Panthers who took Young. This team is on the up and got the perfect setup here, knocking the rust off already but not having to play a full game while the other team has a bunch of new faces. Texans should easily even up their preseason record vs a team that likely will only see consistent gains on offense through QB runs looking at their QB depth chart.
Houston was eliminated by Lamar Jackson as he ran over them for 100 rushing in addition to his passing, so that should be something of a focus for their defense this year. Hopefully it's not still a weakness defending the QB run.
