Niners, Jaguars, Texans or Seahawks if they should reach the Super Bowl. 18 of the last 21 Super Bowl winners have lost at least one game in December of that season. The teams I've listed did not lose a game in December of this season. Losing in December, especially if you're on a winning streak, helps a team reset and play even harder for the ultimate goal of winning the Super Bowl.

Good info. I don't think the 49ers, Texans or Jaguars will reach the SB. Seattle I'm up in the air about, but ifthey do, good info to have in the arsenal, thanks.

2. Likely because those games tend to be meaningless for top tier teams so once they wrap it up there isn't much to play for especially last game. So, I wouldn't necessarily consider this. What I will say is if Jags beat Bills whoever they play they won't win. I am not sure any team has even won and covered 10 straight in the NFL

1. Who were the 3 that didn't?

As you are aware only week 18 is played in January (the last game of the year for all teams). It is always advantageous to go into the playoffs hot and losing your last game of the season is certainly not doing that. Example of what I'm saying: Denver lost week 16 game Dec. 21st against Jacksonville. They played as if they had NO interest in winning that one. Better for them that Jacksonville goes into the playoffs on an extended winning streak than themselves. They then won their last two games and are hot going into the playoffs. Aqib Talib (ex-Denver cornerback) discussed this at length during week 15. I'm not certain how the Niners will fair in the playoffs having lost their last game of the season played in January. I wish them well, but I will most certainly bet against them in the Super Bowl if they get that far.

These seem like contradictory statements. You think teams should lose prior to entering the playoffs for a reset, but that reset must occur in December or prior to week 18?
Seems very arbitrary.

I also went to mention, there have only been 4 NFL seasons prior to this year with an 18 week schedule, so you do not have enough evidence to make such a claim as true.

Since the 2021-2022 season when the NFL first went to an 18 week schedule, of the 8 teams that have made the Super Bowl, 5 (62.5%) lost a regular season game in January. 4 (50%) lost in week 18.

Nice secret trend. I also know a secret trend. NFL teams before Bye week 6 almost never win the super bowl. 2024 Eagles were the only NFL team to win it after 20 years.
