SF defense alone is disgusting and should give up 30+ minimum in my opinion. Can Seattle shut down the 9ers and McCaffery? I got this one 33-23 Seattle

One possible reason is that SF cannot stop the run and SEA can run. So, SEA may take the air out of the ball very effectively to start with.
Then, of course, SF cannot run the ball and have to use the pass to set it up. SEA pass defense has been elite the last few games, their pass rush has been okay and their run defense has been one of the best.
So, I could see SEA doing all they can to keep it from being a track meet.
I do not have a play on the total. I had it set at 47.
But you are right that if these offenses are allowed to get going early it can get out of hand fast. ![]()

Both defenses run a shit ton of zone coverage. Seattle almost exclusively.
It wouldn't surprise me if we get a game where all the yards are gained between the 20's, then relegated to a bunch of FG's.
It's also a divisional game, I always look to the under in these before the over.
SF was involved in an 80 pt game last week, and a 75 pt game the week before.
I would tread lightly going over 47.
Just some devil's advocate

90% rain through out game. Purdy can’t throw in the rain

Tread carefully here with this over as I believe it should be higher myself than the 47.5 especially after that offense display that we seen from frisco last week against the bears....but:
That game last week playing Carolina, Seattle's defense was dominant holding Carolina to 139 yards.
I think that opening interception in the opening minutes of last week's game with Chicago set the tone to the game for a high scoring affair and most likely won't happen here as I believe this game becomes defensive and the high scoring affair between the niners and Chicago last week becomes a public perception play this week and should be carefully played as such with caution. ![]()

A lot of this is true about the perception.
But I would point out that the SEA defense is maybe 25-30% better than the CHI defense. CHI helped out SF a lot more in that game than I expect SEA to.

the niners held Fred Taylor to 46 rushing yards. LB Tatum Bethune is really good against the run, but bad in pass coverage.

I am assuming you meant Jonathon Taylor?
They did. However, the Colts gameplan was not to feed Taylor to set up the pass. SF knew that IND was not going to beat them deep, so they allowed all of the short passes. But then again, Taylor's last several games has has not been as good as he was earlier in the season.
Really? I see Bethune as the 22nd best LB against the run with a WAR of .2 and 10th best with a .060 PS/Play and 17th best blown tackle% of 7.7%
But I understand what you are saying, I think, that the SF defense can step up against the run.
But I feel that they can only do it if the pass game is also not effective. Like against a 45 year old QB or a RB that has faded the last several games.
Now, if the rain effectively slows the passing game down enough that they can concentrate on pass defense -- yes, they can do that well enough.
