DK NFL SNF Week 14: Texans v. Chiefs

This is the most interesting matchup on the board this week. I was high on Texans coming into the season, in fact I believe I ranked them at #8 heading into the season in my top 10 rankings

Texans had their struggles early on due to the health of their offense, but right now they are healthy as can be and seem to be hitting their r stride. Offense is picking up a bit of steam and improving. Defense has dominated nearly all season. This is a full circle moment for the Texans who have had lost to the Chiefs 5 straight times. 

I'm viewing this game in almost the same way as when the Texans played the Ravens earlier this season. A team that got stomped by Ravens annually but difference is it won't be a cakewalk. Chiefs still have Mahomes but they just haven't been the same team like in seasons past. They'll be going up against a Texans defense that has balled out and will probably be the best version of Texans defense Mahomes has faced.

What was interesting to me was that Houston had the shortest odds to win the division going into today. This is despite being 1 game behind Indy and Jacksonville, and one of them was going to win today. So a Houston loss, and they were already underdogs, would have put them 2 games behind. Seemed a bit odd to me.

That's why I thought Indy was going to win today. They had a tough schedule coming up. Jacksonville probably has 2 wins in the last 4. Would have put them at 10.

But that got all messed up today with Daniel Jones Achilles tear. 

KC was -140 NOT to make the playoffs, but with that injury the Colts may be on the outside now.

I honestly think Colts were a fraud team to begin with. didn't buy them even when they were winning all those games. Game might be closer with Jones but he threw an INT and I believe he would have thrown another if he stayed in. Jags just a better team with a tougher SOS.

KC has 3 starting linemen out I read , that may be a huge problem for KC - Mahomes should rush for over the number.

 That's actually an interesting take. Wish I had better luck with props but those seemed rigged. Think you'll have to account for sack yards for a loss and the dreaded consecutive kneel downs to shave the Over

Houston's defense has been stellar. KCs d is good too but they have the least sacks in the NFL the last 3 games. In that span Houston has the 3rd most. The Texans also have the 3rd best turnover margin, they have playoff revenge, and they can essentially eliminate the Chiefs by winning at Arrowhead.

The only problem is: they can't. They're 2-8 at Arrowhead all time and 0-5 the last 5 vs KC overall.

As bad as KC has. Looked lately, and despite having a great defense, this is probably the one opponent other than the Raiders they would want coming in in a must win situation.

I never bet against a team that is on a streak of owning another team. Sure, they will turn the tide eventually but you make money staying on the side of the team that owns the other one.

We all know the NFL won't want Mahomie eliminated like this.

Ravens are winning that division. One game behind right now. One more game with Pitt to gain it back.

Texans cap off my profitable Sunday. Probably the best week I've had all season despite my regular season struggles 

I thought DeMeco Ryans will be a good head coach when he left San Fran. Let's see. 

My first reaction would say Bengals but need to assess this further. It's been a minute since Bengals swept the Ravens. Originally had them split the series but I don't know

Closing in on 3rd straight playoff appearances each time making it past the Wildcard round. Just need to get past the division round. Turned a downtrodden Texans team around. Your thoughts have prove correct so far

Google AI, Texans have 90%+ probability to make it to the postseason after their big Week 14 win against the Chiefs tonight. DeMeco Ryans as the head coach and CJ Stroud both have four playoff games (W2-L2) experiences, I think postseason experience is quite critical to win the playoff games.  One last question...Steelers win the Division...or Ravens still have a shot?

They have 5 winnable games , whether they catch the Jags is up for debate. AFC South will be an interesting finish. Chances look good. Thank you  

I've said it before that I think Steelers win the division and Ravens somehow sneak into the wildcard spot, but now I think about it the Ravens playoff hopes are in doubt if that happens no margin for error left the wildcard race is too crowded. they have to win the division now imo. Steelers hold the bargaining chips. Bengals could make the race interesting
