coming in to this past weekend, I was dreading the possibility of a KC-Philly SB and maybe that had something to do with my being on the wrong side in both games. The fact is the two teams still playing are the two best. Philly dominated in the trenches again and was helped along by four deadly Washington turnovers. Barkley, who was the perfect addition to this team, carried the offense and credit Hurts, who got it done when he had to. From what I saw Philly would have won this game even without the turnovers
There's less of a margin between the AFC teams Instead of turnovers, Buffalo was hampered by the officiating. There were a couple of big misses, one of them, the missed spot on that 4th down resulting in a possession change was inexplicable, as usual. Interestingly Gene Steratore (sp?), NFL Head of officiating said as much on the broadcast. It was backbreaker because the Bills were on the move with the lead. Even so I don't think that call changed the outcome.
Buffalo's coaching lost this game. Late 3rd quarter after the Bills had established the ground game, the Chiefs adjusted to stop it, and it was clearly time for some play action or some rpo to take advantage of their QB. For some reason they never did.
Add that to the long and expanding list of The NFL's Unexplained. If it's not the officiating it's the boneheads. But throughout this game there was a huge difference in how easily KC moved the ball downfield while the Bills seemed to struggle for every inch, so I think KC would have won and deserved it. It would have been nice if the refs got the calls right, but that's today's NFL.
