I may not have time to get to all the questions, but I'll first state that I think whereas the Chargers certainly have a shot to win this game, the Eagles have the edge here. The QB position is the most important in football. Herbert dealing with a broken non-throwing hand may be too tough to overcome. I expect the Chargers to lean heavily on their run game and the Eagles to know this.
Eagles run defense has been abysmal without Carter, whereas the Chargers will be adding Hampton back to a run game that has found new life with Kimani Vidal. Some of that has to do with their slightly improved O-line play. Things look a lot better at Herbert's blindside with Salyer manning the position over scrubs such as Penning and Deculus.
I have emotional skin in the game, but no $$. (At least not yet.)
So ask away and if I've got an answer for you I'll share it.

Fangio going up against his old buddy and Coach Harbaugh and Greg Roman is what fascinates me most here. Who has the edge in terms of knowing what the other side likes to do on big/leverage downs and which team can execute. I don’t imagine there are many secrets between these two teams.
I am also curious what you really think of this Chargers defense. They got it handed to them against the Jaguars and then dominated the hapless Raiders. Just how good is this defense and where are their weaknesses?

What do you expect the split to be between Hampton and Vidal tonight?
70/30 (Vidal/Hampton)
I think Vidal will operate as the lead back this week as they ease Hampton in. Hampton may be the guy to get the tough yards though as he's a bruising back.

The Chargers defense has been really up and down this year. Minter has called some great games and then some where you're left scratching your head and wondering what happened. The Jaguars game may have really been in the players' heads, though. This was the first time the Chargers have either played Jacksonville or at least played IN Jacksonville since that epic WC playoff loss.
If you're asking where their weakness is in defense it might just be up front. They have really good secondary play when all of their DBs are healthy and play zone. That's where they excel. I've noticed they haven't played well in man coverage, but they have one CB who is really good at that (Cam Hart). They're also getting Ogbonnia back. Well, they've activated him from IR and not sure if he'll play tonight. They cut depth in Naquan Jones to bring him back. He played pretty good before he got hurt, but in prior seasons he was underwhelming. (Still on his rookie contract.) So it's hard to tell how they hold up.
If I had to pick a weakness on defense it's Daiyan Henley, or at least what we expect of him. Before playing with the flu in his "Michael Jordan game," he was playing lights out. But although he's healthy now he hasn't tackled as well and reacting late.

How healthy is Lac offensive line? Do you think they will provide enough protection for Herbert?
The O-line will always be their Achilles heel this year. After losing two of their Pro Bowl caliber tackles in Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt, they haven't fully recovered. They actually played well enough before Alt was out, but him getting hurt again shut the door on hem having that same level of play.
They've had a revolving door at LT since, playing Austin Deculus, Trevor Penning, and now Jamaree Salyer. They started Jamaree Salyer at left tackle for the first time this season against the Raiders last week and it was a world of difference. Their O-line play went from bottom of the barrel to "still bad, but a lot better than before." Salyer has filled in at RG earlier this year, and has played LT before, but LT feels like his more natural position. I'm not sure if Becton plays and, if he does, plays well. But if the Chargers are able to trot out Salyer-Johnson-Bozeman-Becton-Pipkins it'll give them their best unit without Slater, Alt, and Bobby Hart.
Herbert will play out of shotgun, and sometimes pistol, so he'll get his protection there when looking to pass. It's just a matter of whether that will make enough of a difference since he'll have to account for the yards and time the ball comes out of Center for him to make up yards for. I think if the Chargers run game gets going against the Eagles front, then they have a shot to win this game. Vidal had one of his best games last week, and you could say it was because they were playing against the Raiders. But maybe, just maybe, they've found their best run blocking unit with Salyer at LT since the beginning of the season.

I love him and hate him sometimes. But mostly love him. I also love Jesse Minter. I dislike Greg Roman, but obviously still root for him.
I remember wanting Vrabel as my 1a preferred candidate and then Harbaugh (for the culture installation) and then Ben Johnson for the innovation. But after hiring three "hot coordinators" with no head coaching experience (McCoy, Lynn, Staley) I knew they weren't going to go that route. It was either going to be Vrabel (might slight preference) or Harbaugh (who has brought a winning culture everywhere he went).
If there's one thing about Harbaugh I don't like is his stubborness to hang on to his guys (like Roman) and players like Scott Matlock.

This is exactly where the line needs to be. The Chargers are a Jeckyll & Hyde team, so it's hard to predict if they get blown out, or keep it close with a win or loss.
So many unknown variables with Herbert playing on a freshly surgically repaired hand, and playing out of shotgun, so I'm not sure what that bodes for the Chargers' offense. And can the Chargers pass rush get to Hurts without a full game of Lane Johnson? We shall see. Can they contain Hurts' ability to scramble for extra yards? I have less faith in that.
I'm horrible at totals, but this feels like an Under game.
