@ABooksNightmare Not a books nightmare with that IQ.
@ABooksNightmare
What was your thoughts back before NIL money for college did you think kids were not getting paid under the table because there was no shred of evidence but fast forward to now and they all laugh about it.
You act like you need some giant conspiracy with 30+ people involved to influence a game, One side judge with a bad call or even worse a no call, or how the side judge spots the ball a foot off multiple times a game. There's so many ways, NFL is not saying hey make sure X game ends 27-20.

So my head is in the sand while you live in a complete and utter fantasy land...the original premise of your thread was about the league limiting games going into overtime because of the amount of money being bet on over props...as if to suggest that the league or books have control over this during games...you have no proof of any of this and then profess that 99% of the public is betting on player over props and that books can see where ALL the action is.... I am saying this is completely false and you have no way to prove that this is true. It is highly improbable that 99% of bettors are betting on player prop overs and I already know that it is impossible for ALL the books to know where other businesses action is....this is simply not possible and not common knowledge as you would suggest...my responses were on point with your original comments...
Now let's shift your theory to a new topic and new discussion about the Donaghy effect...yes, he got busted for calling more fouls against the team he and his animal crew were betting against...it's a form of manipulation, but certainly not fixing games or playing to the effect of player props like you are suggesting here...he and his crew devised a plan to use the whistle to help influence the outcome of a game he was officiating and betting on/against a certain team...he was one man in a three man crew of on court NBA refs and yes he did some shady shit with the blatant calls he made...his shit went on for a very short period before he got caught...he got caught because of an investigation into his buddy who was a professional gambler..Donaghy confessed to using certain lingo to tip off bookies into player health situations, relationships and of course to influence games with his whistle...this was very short lived though and he got caught because of irregular betting patterns by a professional gambler after a thorough FBI investigation...
The NFL consists of seven on field referees and is a completely different situation...again, going off your original premise that games are being fixed a certain way because 99% of the betting public are taking player prop totals over is absolutely inaccurate....this would make the claim that player props are closely being monitored and at the end of games this information is relayed to the stadium or individuals to not allow a possible outcome during the game....you know how difficult that would be to communicate such a thing during a live game? We have coaches that can't even get play calls in timely or QB's that can't get plays off before the play clock expires and you think that there is some coordinated effort to fix player prop over totals and no one has been busted for this yet...no way..that's complete bullshit and to even think that you would think this tells me how off base the betting public is who actually thinks this...you do know that the NFL reviews every play from every NFL game for referee inaccuracies as part of an evaluation process and each crew and individual is graded to ensure consistent accuracy of each performance...you're not getting one referee out of seven to fix anything...
If there was anything shady going on then this would have been exploited long ago...just stop with this nonsense or as biscuit said, show proof...

stay on topic about what you said and the message that is being discussed here...you can shift all you like, but I am on point with your original outlandish comments you made.

You are failing to see the human element with all of this, even as you portray yourself here in this thread....you are a conspiracy theorists and that is it...humans do amazing and stupid shit all the time...the NFL is a game with humans and so that element can be both amazing and a head scratcher at times...not because it is fixed, but because humans are not perfect...get a grip dude

I feel like you are on reddit alot, but I'll try to answer. Its funny how you cant put 2 and 2 together to see where I am going with convo.
Reason why I bring up NBA/Ncaaf is to point out that people like you used to say the same exact thing no rigging everything is legit, show me proof blah blah blah and boom the proof comes out and now you gonna sit here with a straight face and tell me that what Donaghy did was different! lol bro comon man! They didn't have player props betting back then but If they did trust me he woulda been rigging those as its WAY easier.
You must be some technical quant or something because I used 99% as a phrase of speech could it be 98% sure? could it be 89%? sure. BUT the large large majority of bettors especially causals bet overs, How many guys you see betting the DO NOT PASS line when you play craps? same shit.
My original statement I said the NFL does NOT want to see overtime because props likely to go over and totals to go over which (pick a %) of bettor are on.
YES the books can 110% see how much exposure they have to a single player prop, Its not hard to see how many bets have Mahomes pass yards over. Over time is bad for business.
Like I said games are influenced (rigged) sometimes Team A is so bad or Team B is so good that even with the influence they cant control the outcome but let me assure you when you see a game that has 75%+ of the public on them expect zero help from refs on those 50/50 calls that always seem to go the dogs way

This is sort of interesting, so I pulled some stats from a few randomly selected prior seasons, for comparison purposes
——-
As of October 14, 2025, there have been two overtime games in the NFL regular season:
There were 16 NFL overtime games during the 2024 regular season, which accounts for a little over 5% of all games. None of the regular season games in 2024 ended in a tie, and there were no overtime games during the postseason
There were 20 NFL overtime games during the 2023 regular season, and no playoff games went into overtime. This means there were a total of 20 overtime games in the 2023 season.
In the 2022 NFL regular season, there were 21 games that went to overtime. This was a slight increase from the 17 overtime games in 2021.
In the 2014 NFL regular season, there were 11 games that went to overtime.
In the 2013 NFL regular season, there were 16 games that went to overtime.
There were 12 regular-season NFL games that went to overtime in 2004.
In the 2003 NFL regular season, there were 23 games decided in overtime.
In the 2000 NFL regular season, there were 16 overtime games. This was a slight decrease from the 17 overtime games in 1999. The 2000 season did not set any new records for overtime games, but it continued the trend of relatively high overtime occurrences in the league's history.
In 1995, the NFL had 21 regular-season games that went into overtime.
There were 16 NFL regular-season games that went to overtime in 1994.

What do you think ? Did a group of people make a major major mistake which allowed Super Bowl 58 to go to O.T ? . We all know the type of action that’s taken in on the type of bets your talking about in super bowls , its enormous and that one was the first Super Bowl ever played in Nevada
Funny theory
