Cashing out of my Steelers play....3-1 for the wildcard round.

It's a rarity that #1 seed is a home underdog last one I remember was the Eagles with Nick Foles in their SB winning season. I think there were 4 or 5 other examples of this occuring I believe the SUATS might be 4-2 or something do you have any data to confirm. Thank you Indigo great thread as always

My playoff data goes back to 2001....there is no way to input seeding into the database.  A team off a bye with the better record being a home underdog in the divisional round has gone 2-1 SUATS.....

2011 49ers +3' Saints 36-32

2013 Panthers +1' 49ers 10-23

2017 Eagles +2' Falcons 15-10

and 0-1 SUATS in the Championship round....with the Bears having a previous bye and the Packers not having one.....the year the Packers won 3 straight road games and then beat the Steelers in the SB.

According to vsin numbers the public went 3-0 on sides in Sunday's playoff games, but 0-3 on totals.  The public rarely wins over any length of time.  Public backing the Texans on MNF and the Bears and Bills this coming weekend.

9)  A divisional round away dog, whose margin of victory was greater their previous game than their present opponent's previous game margin of victory......34-21 ATS, including 21-7 ATS as an away dog on Sunday games......ON Texans 

(The Texans' previous game margin of victory was 24 points and the Patriots' was 13.) 

10)  A home favorite playoff team playing a divisional rival before the conference championship round....6-13 ATS (-4.6), 10-9 straight up (+1.8).....VERSUS Seahawks.....if those teams split during the regular season the record of the home favorite moves to 4-9 ATS.

11)  A home divisional round favorite who's won at least five straight home games....17-25 ATS (-1.7), 27-13 straight up (+4.6).....15 out of the 42 teams in this particular situation won by 8 or more points.....VERSUS Seahawks

12)  Away dogs in the playoffs excluding championship round/Super Bowl that have won three out of their past three road games......30-11 ATS (+5.0), 21-20 straight up (-0.50).......ON 49ers, Bills, Texans....if this game is on a Sunday it moves to 21-4 ATS....ON Texans
