I have heard many solid arguments for conspiracy in sports. This is probably the worst one I’ve ever heard. You are a babbling psychopath. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

One time out left with 12 seconds, and instead of trying to go 5 yds forward you go two yards back.
Steelers will end up losing to Houston I would surmise.

I would have tried to get that young field goal kicker in closer range even if there was half of that time left with a timeout. ![]()

I found it interesting that Lamar had already been "livid" with him on the sideline earlier in the quarter when he hit the kickoff out of bounds. I'm sure having the star QB already on your ass doesn't help ease the pressure too much.

My friend who lives in Pitt mentioned via text that the same reason why the Pitt kicker missed the XP is why Loop missed, winds were swirling hard and for sure being on the right hash was the wrong side but likely what the kicker preferred. If he had been on the left or middle the kick would have stuck.

had they turned the ball over just because they tried to get a closer FG, everyone would scream for his life then. It was the correct decision, that kicker gotta make it, he was 100% making the FG in that range for the year.

Like the Vikings in 98 vs Falcons and didn’t that happen to the Bears several years ago.
Must you bring that game up? Yes how can I forget we gave the game to the eagles with that miss ![]()

I don’t know I can’t really agree with that. In my opinion the result of a turnover would be the fault of the player who turned it over. The coach would take some heat as always but that doesn’t mean it’s not the right decision. Harbaugh is on the hot seat the way it turned out anyway. In my opinion you draw up a pass play and tell Lamar to scramble or throw it away if it’s not there. Worst case scenario you give the kicker essentially the same kick. Actually a hair closer because the kneel down actually lost a couple yards. Totally unacceptable if you ask me.

I've seen players told over and over again not to take a sack and try to see if they can gain some yardage and if not just throw it away, and somehow they still took a sack or lose the ball...easier said than done. Shit could turn ugly very fast if they blitz you on a pass play and if Lamar somehow fucks it up and fumble it then what? Or he found an open receiver and the receiver tipped it and get intercepted, and then what? In most cases they will throw it away which don't really achieve anything anyway, so why risk it when the kicker is 100% of the year in that range. If you wanna rush with henry and if he fumbled it then what?
Sure it would be fault of the player if a turnover happened, but the coach job is not to let your players to even have a chance to expose to such possibility. It's not wrong to run a play to try to gain some yardage for easier kick, but it's also not wrong to just kick it right there imo, I'm okay with either decision and I find nothing wrong in either decision.. at the end of the day the kicker gotta make that kick, especially if hes 100% for the year, the loss is absolutely not on the coach for this particular game lol. Harbaugh is on the hot seat cause they haven't gotten anything done for all those years with Lamar in the playoffs, they are looking to change things up.

Also, if you run an extra play, the possibility of a Flag to push back the FG is always possible, how about some dumbass decided to draw some unsportsmanlike penalty, or a holding or some shit like that, it could turn ugly... point is, the kicker is 100%, if the coach don't want to chance it, I totally 100% understand and wouldn't mind it whatsoever. The decision is not wrong or dumb as many called it.

It certainly didn’t help them. I’d love to know how much more comfortable Loop would have been from let’s say 36 yards instead of 44? I guess we’ll never know.

@justliketoplay
sure, it's always the coach decision that cost them the win if it didn't work. If he ran a play and lose the ball, it's still the coach decision, you can say everything is coach's decision in wins/losses. Lamar sets up the FG chance with 100% kicking rate, coach decided to roll with it, whatever happens happen. Sometimes you need some luck in sports to win, especially in a close battle.

Saw this posted, assume it is true:
@???N?Y: ??FUN FACT??: There have been over 60,000 field-goal attempts in NFL history.
Tyler Loop's miss on Sunday night is the ONLY one of those attempts that came as time expired in the fourth quarter in the final week with both teams' playoff hopes resting solely on the result of his kick.
