Are we talking history or future of what's to come. If you are basing your pick on a historical advantage and experience, you should be on OKC tonight. If your mind is open to what is possible in the future without seeing it happen then you should be on the Spurs.
I have closely watched every game as you have. This game will be physical unlike games 1-5. Officiating was put on the spot after game 5 and a huge noticeable difference between game 5 and 6 calls. I believe this game will be like game 6 in SA in a sense of physical play vs touch fouls. Adam Silver has been on the defense in the media about the flopping and touch fouls. The narrative has put the spotlight on this series. I see this game will be a very physical game. OKC will try to slow the pace and SA will do oppo.
OKC has not been the dominent team at home like last season. Call it sophomore slump, championship lag, Injury bug, whatever. From a psychological standpoint, the pressure is not on the Spurs but OKC. Spurs will play free, OKC will have to control pace and get back on defense. Spurs have a real advantage with guard play. AJ being out for OKC is huge in a sense that he is the best slash/pass/shooting guard off the bench besides SGA starting. McCain laid a egg last game not because of skill but defense of the Spurs. While the Spurs have Harper, Fox, and Castle who can dominate the paint. When it comes to championships, I believe it comes down defense and dominating guard play.
I am risking a xL side on a team that is unseen...hopefully after tonight they will break out of the youth barrier to winning championship games.
