Now that the game 1 jitters are over......Time for this team to do what they do best at home.......Dismantle the fuck out of someone.....

Before this loss they were covering spreads and beating down their competition by a large margin of victory.......

Don't let the lines fool you......you all saw what happened to the Mavs last night right???

Game 1 win at a line of -4.....then they were getting 6.5????

And look what happened......SA made them pay for the Home loss......

I see a mirror image of this game in the SA game......

Dont fall in love with the Rockets just yet......

    Line was set at -6.......

    Portland takes this by DD.....

PORTLAND - 6...................LARGER THEN NORMAL WAGER

1-2 IN THE PLAYOFFS THUS FAR

THIS IS A HORRIBLE MATCHUP FOR THE BLAZERS.

The players know it, the Coachs know it, Blazer fans know it and hardcore ball fans know this. Three reasons why this series is a bad matchup for the jailblazers.

1.)Portland also play at a slower pace and this allows YAO to be alot more effective then when he goes against a team that push's the ball.

2.)Portland doesnt have anyone that can stop YAO. Pryzbilla is a good defender, but hes still no match for YAO and Oden is a fouling machine and wouldnt last very long eating up big minutes against Ming.

3.)Houston has 2 excellant defenders in Artest and Battier who can slow down Roy and make his life miserable. Yes he got to the basket effectively in the first game but those 2 guys made him work REAL hard to get his points. Not many teams have 2 defenders of this calibar that can defend against ROY at the sg spot.

Lets look at the last 3 times these two teams have played and look at the trends on Houstons side.

Last game they were up by 18 points at half
April 5th they were up by 11 points at half
Feb 24th they were up by 17 points at half

They won the last game by 27 points
They won April 5th game by 14 points
They won Feb 24th by 4 points

In these three games YAO has shot 21 of 34 from the Field.

In these three games Houston has outrebounded and outassisted Portland each game.

In all three of these games Houston has shot better from 3 point range.

In all three of the games Houston has shot better from the free throw line.

Basically every important facet of the game has been controlled by Houston in the last 3 matchups. Portland is a young team with very limited experiance starting off against a veteran team whos VERY eager to finally win a playoff series and they seem to badly have Portlands number.

Houston prolly wins this game outright, the points are just a added bonus.

Portland has lost the last 3 games to the Rockets by a combined total of 45 points. Why would anyone think they would win this game by 6 points?

Some teams just have other teams numbers and own them for whatever reason and this certainly looks like one of those matchups. It also doesnt help that Roy, Aldridge, Oden, Fernandez etc are all seeing the postseason for the first time.

I couldn't agree more.  In fact, I had a similar writeup just a bit ago.  Portland rolls tonight.

When there's big money involved... sniffing it out will lead you to the TRUTH.

Reality is Houston is built for playoffs in the NBA, has more  experience, and a big man (Yao) they can go to in crunch time... and he can shoot from the charity stripe.

Truth is, no way David Stern wants this series done in 4. Like Dallas, Houston's main objective (get a road-win, & gain home court) has been attained. Wouldnt be surprised to see some Yao-muggings go unnoticed... just like a few Dirk-muggings last night. Also, cant see T-Blaze play as poorly as they did twice in a row. I hate the fact that the line is so high; but It almost makes it easier to lay the points, as the books seem to be begging for more Rocket Fuel ()....

Matchup problem, matchup problem, matchup problem. Houston takes this one SU, methinks.  Steve Blake and Brandon Roy both undersized, not to mention the need to double-team Yao down low. POR will win only if they allow 6 players vs HOU's 5.

It's not possible for the Rockets to play the Lakers in the Western Finals.  They would matchup in the semis.

Here's why the Blazers will win tonight:

Uh because if they don't there could be like 50 suicides committed in the city of Portland.  This game is about more than basketball, people's lives are on the line here.  If the Blazers deliver another hideous performance workplace productivity in the state could dip to an all-time low.  Nobody wants that do they?  Blazers win.

Possible.  Everybody should be crossing their fingers and toes tonight for a BIG Blazers win so then we can all turn around and immediately unload on Houston (at say -5/5.5) in game three at the Toyota Center.  The same deer in the headlights look the Blazers had in game one will resurface in they're first true playoff road test.  Portland is horrible on the road against good teams, they're almost Utah Jazz' esque.

i was leaning portland since yesterday, you have to believe that the young guys had the jitters and just didnt take the best shots. i believe yao showed that he's built to play in those situations, i expect the young kids to come out and play with a lot of heart for portland. brandon roy will play harder.. they will defend yao better... portland is a strong team when they get it all working together. we have to remember that they even beat the lakers at home, so i wouldn't dare count them out.

    portland or no play.

Just what we need, more consipiracy theorists. There were some Dirk Muggings last night but the game was called evenly the whole way through. This is nothing like the Dallas game. The spurs needed 38 points from Parker and 4 other starters in double digits to win that game by that margin. Dallas is what, maybe 7 players deep? Houston is 10 deep. You have to count chuck hayes because even though he did not play much last game he is a beast when it comes to defending Aldridge. Aldridge was not much of a threat last game so no need to play chucky too much. Expect that to change tonight. Blazers just might squeak out a W tonight but they will not cover.

    Go Rockets!

also, it's going to be scary the amount of people that will be on houston today, if you don't like crowds - take portland. it'll be you, the kid in the steve blake jersey, and the guy in the blazers hat at the ticket window casing in their tickets, while the guy in the yao ming jersey will wonder why he bought it after game 1.

The only way i see the Blazers winning is if the refs come down on Yao Ming. 2 quick fouls & make him sit.

The refs were horrible last night in Mavs game but didnt matter the Spurs made everything. But dont use any this conspiracy theory crap b ecaue the league wants Boston V LA and Chicago nearly came away with another road win and the refs called a very fair game. So get over that talk. On the other hand I do believe I am going to do the same thing I did yesterday. I believe the match up here favors the Rockets so I will play the Rockets and like someone else said in this thread they play D and have a dominant big man and that equals playoff success. I think that portland wiil win a game but like Boston not cover. I dont see how anyone plays Portland cuz looking at matchup Houston is better and getting points. People play Portland strictly on EMOTION.
