good morning from the sty on this memorial day. first, something more important than our self absorbed enjoyment of sports..i want to extend my personal thanks and appreciation for all those who serve and have served in our armed forces, and to those families to whom memorial day has a deeper, more somber meaning as they have lost loved ones serving in our behalf, thank you for their service and love of others they never knew, and no words will ever replace them....thank you we continue, on a more sober note.... in the nation's capitol, baltimore makes a short trip to play the nationals...one of the gang mentioned this game last night, and at first glance i wanted no part of it, but on further review, i see jason hammels is 3-0 at nationals park..and 4-1 against them in his career, as he used to pitch in the NL...the site i use hasnt posted first 5 lines yet, but i will take a flyer for a small play on baltimore first 5, which should be around +120......hammels has been brutal his last 3 starts with an ERA over 8, but he returns to familiar surroundings today, where he has had success...both bullpens are atrocious recently, and i will play full game over 7 1/2, thinking hammls eventually comes out, hopefully with a lead in the 6th!!! then we can get a bullpen meltdown and see the over cash.. in houston, i will once again ride the arm of bud norris the first 5...his ERA is just a tad under 2 at home this season, and he has actually pitched very well at home ....only things that make me second guess this is norris' limited success against the rockies, and his day time numbers are not good, but im taking a shot with bud anyway...should be around +140 first 5... off to run an errand for ms piggy.... feel free to comment or leave your own suggestions..

Morning, Pig…. I said I’d take a breather from posting as
I’ve been on a major roll lately and due for a correction. However, yesterday was another stellar day
which I missed sharing with the crew. Thus, I’m going to post an early one today but please tail at your own risk as I know
what’s inevitable.
Balt/Wash o7.5 FG
This play is all about JasonHammel and the O’s bullpen.Yes,
Hammelsports a very respectable 6-2
record but his 5.37 ERAshould raise a
flag when it comes to playing the total. One, he’s giving up a good deal of runs and, two, he’s getting a good
deal of run support…both of which are evident when analyzing his season game
logs.Often times an ERA can be
deceiving due to a few bad innings but, in this case, Hammel has consistently
given up runs. Now, some in here would
advise playing F5 instead of FG because of “too many variables” such as
bullpens. But, this is precisely why I’m
playing the FG total in order to take further advantage of a putrid Oriole
‘pen.On the flipside, Gio’s good but
certainly not great and facing the MLB’s team leader in HRs will not be an easy
task. With all of that said, is a 5-3
game either way an unreasonable outcome?I think not.
I'll be hitting the road soon and will hopefully check back in later this afternoon. Until then, bol on your plays today.

coach, i concur completely...and i do like to avoid the variables of the bullpens, as i know that remark was mainly directed at me and melo, but i play first 5s when i think a starter has an advantage, and the pen will blow it....in these cases i am on board with you, and i did say in my post i liked over full game....for the same reason you outline...i hope your holiday weekend is going well, and good luck to you, as always...

so far i'm locked in on baltimore over 7.5 FG and TT O 3.5.
also locked in detroit FG Over 7.5 and parlayed the bal/wash over, det/pit over, astros/rockies over 8.5, and kc/stl under 7.
nba i'm going Over everything again 1q 1h fg. small play on spurs ML too everywhere i look they talk about the nba interfering with spurs saying finals is on june 6th and they need games to fill the gap in between. my thinking is spurs end it tonight with the motivation of over a week's rest before the finals start to gameplan and get physically and mentally prepared for miami.

Hey guys. Hope you're all having a great Memorial Day! I'm still trying to recover. Was falling down drunk last night; literally. Fell down a couple times. Had around 10 beers and at least 10 shots of tequila. Apparently got most everyone at the party to throw money on the Miami Heat. I don't even remember watching the game, but there's a lot of dough in my account. So made a lot of friends and fortunately the wife isn't too pissed at me.
Anyway, not sure what my picks will look like; fair warning has been given.....

Interleague matchups have historically been a struggle for me. Lack of familiarity between batters and SP's tend to throw off of a lot of totals...especially f5.

coach and pig, what wind speeds would you guys consider significant?
for example. 11 mph winds blowing in from left field into comerica park and 17 mph winds blowing out towards left field at kauffman stadium in KC.
also injury updates, no bryce harper for the nats, no matt holiday for the cardinals, and no ryan braun for the brewers
If you don't mind me jumping in.... I think 11 mph is significant; its enough to keep a borderline home run in the park, but not a huge impact. And 17 makes a big difference; will definately help an over if blowing out....

thanks baby...i think i might end up playing detroit TT over instead of FG over...their HR hits tend to be more than borderline since they're crushing it and familiarity with liriano + liriano in an AL park facing 9 solid hitters should help more than hurt. probably will avoid the stl/kc under too.

metta, checking the wind at weatherunderground, i see 6 and 7 MPH winds blowing in from almost straight centerfield at comerica, that wont make a difference...and in KC wind is blowing OUT to left centerat 12-14 MPH...that would help a ball get out that was marginal..or even a warning track type fly ball. dont know where you get your weather from, but you need to check again, if you think that wind angle is that big of a deal...i would check on wainwright and shields ratio of ground ball to fly balls.....dont know if either of them is a classic ground ball pitcher or not...

i hope u guys like the dodgers today. they are hitting lefties .285 this season and facing CJ wilson who isn't anything better than average. I'll be on their ML and TT over.

Actually, I'm probably going to play Pitt TT over. I'm surprised its only a 3. Pirates have decent hitting and Verlander has been struggling lately. My cloudy brain thinks 3 is too low....

baby i thought about that too but my local has it at 3.5 and i saw verlander has an era of 1.6 during day games and the pirates lineup in 80+ plate appearances (which isn't a whole lot) are hitting .217 and have a OBP of .261 vs verlander. it's almost like he's set up for a bounce back day which ended up making me stick towards Detroit.

MLB [919] GIANTS (SAN FRANCISCO) o7½-110 [BUMGARNER -L/D STRAILY -R]
May 27
NHL [64] RED WINGS (DETROIT) +1½-290
Risking 25 USD To Win 943 USD
big parlay of the day for me. still pissed off at the pacers for costing me 1 of the parlays from yesterday can't complain about the other because both ATL and pacers were missing.

if you like team totals...jason hammels has an ERA over 8 his last 3 starts and the oriole bullpen is absolutely pitrid.....as coach said... i think the nats TT over 3 1/2 -125 is a STEAL....im all over it like a pig in slop....but i think the Os are a good first 5 play due to hammels record vs the nats, but at some point that oriole pen comes into play.,...

also for you guys using locals, have u ever been in a situation in which they don't give you full value for parlays if it's all 1 sport? for example, i noticed when i do a all MLB parlay the value is throttled by nearly 50% but i do get market value by throwing another sport in there. can't believe it took me this long to figure it out

It started off looking really bad, but did well in the bases yesterday. Think it was the first time this season I hit on a Sunday. Also had a little on the Sharks in hockey and apparently threw a nickel on the Heat, which was a stupid lucky thing to do. Someone was watching out for me yesterday. For today's early games....
Over 7.5 -110 Balt/Wash SMALL. Gonna tail you guys for a bit on this Over. Gio scares me a little but I like the O's hitting and Hammel will give up a few. Pitt TT Over 3 -110 MEDIUM. Pirates hitting isn't bad, and Verlander has really been struggling. This is probably very risky, but I have 9 innings and think 3 is too low. Clev TT Over 3.5 -135 MEDIUM. Like the Over FG, but that's a 9. By just taking Clev I'm gettig a bargain. Its high juice, but love the Indians hitting. And sure, Reds Leake pitched 2 seven inning shutouts in his last two starts, but that was against the two worst hitting teams in the league; Mia and Mets. Doubt he can do that to Indians.
Remember I'm not in my right mind, so I'm probably even dumber than usual in making my picks. GL

I'm hoping he thinks he's on vacation pitching against the Pirates. Thanks for the info but gonna take my chances.

Could be a bug in the software. Try putting in a parlay with any baseball game and another that's -110. Then do the same baseball game with a basketball -110. You don't have to actually submit them. If the parlay numbers don't pay exactly the same you should chew the local a new @sshole...
