LAL @ MEM
Lakers have "clear-the-air" meeting earlier today. Among other things, Kobe allegedly asked Dwight if he disliked playing w/ him. (is this ish for real?)
Don't know if that means anything, but I figured I'd share b/c more info is always better.

This means nothing to me, and if anything makes me like MEM more.
Have you guys been watching these games? Do you really think LAL's ineptness is due to the lack of desire on their behalf to win? This is a dysfunctional team, meeting or not, and a meeting won't change their personnel, won't change their rotation, won't change D'Antoni's lack of emphasis on defense...

“The focus needs to be on the right thing. Our defense has to get better," D'Antoni said."
Oh, your defense has to get better? Well why didn't you say that earlier coach?

I read the rest of the thread and what you have posted here is almost EXACTLY the conversation I had with a guy here at work (fellow degen). Not sure if that's just
I hope you were championing the Grizzlies in that conversation?

what about the fact that memphis traded like 3 people off their bench? what is their rotation now? are they playing a ton of d-leaguer/rookies?
Selby barely gets off the bench (5 mins per game), Ellington a little more but has been playing poorly recently (16 mins per game), and Speights was at 14 mins per game this year. These guys being traded will mean more time for Darrell Arthur, and that's not a bad thing in my book.

Perhaps at -6, Lakers would've been pounded. At -4, they get split action. Could be that simple. LOL

Memphis trading those players though, shouldn't be overlooked. Wayne Ellington and Maurice Speights will be missed... tonight.
Foul trouble for the Grizz could be their undoing.
When was the last game the Lakers were deeper than their opponent?

I know this post will be laughed at, but the Lakes have the psychological advantage tonight. They will give it their all and then some tonight.
Lakes +4.5 and ML for me.

I agree.
Memphis plays slooowwwww. Kinda helps the aging Lakers, IMO.

memphis is a terrible team when it comes to closing out games.... just not something i want to get involved with when you have a team on the brink of explosion...

Memphis struggles mightily to score, now they also losr there best scoring punch off the bench in Ellington
Ellington averages 5.5 PPG off the bench while Speights gave 6.6 PPG off of the bench. Pondexter, Arthur, and Bayless all average around 5-6 PPG off of the bench. Not a giant drop-off IMO

"Blanks chose Hunter over Suns assistants Dan Majerle and Elston Turner, among others. Neither Majerle nor Turner showed up for any of the practices since Hunter was hired. Majerle, a former Suns star player and one of the most popular sports figures in the Phoenix area, has let it be known he won't be back. Turner is a highly-respected assistant who has interviewed for at least four NBA head coaching jobs, including the one in Phoenix when Mike D'Antoni left for the New York Knicks. Turner almost certainly has left his Suns job for good, too.
After practice on Tuesday, Hunter said he wasn't sure of the status of Majerle and Turner but he certainly spoke as if he knew they wouldn't be rejoining the team."
Can you say organization in disarray?

I know a few books opened it at 5.5 and moved quickly to 4.5 and 4 so you may be right.
Strangely I think this is another close game tonight. Lakers were in that game at Chicago, until the end. While Chicago did control the game for the most part, come the last 3 mins of the game, it could've gone either way. I think this can be something similar. Somehow this game is won within 2 or 3 possessions by either team.

No play at all for me. Lean LAL based on refs.
My play is Under 217 in Den/Hou - now check the refs on that one.

Do like Sacramento. And I hate liking Sacramento. LOL
Sad statement, we won't hear those words anymore after this season.
Good Luck to everybody in the Association today!
