Wow, the ignornant posts on here are getting so much more entertaining. Is Boston's first 5 better than Cleveland's, in my opinion YES. I would rather have Rondo, Allen, Pierce, KGH & Perkins over Mo, Parker, Lebron, Jamison & Shaq.
However, Boston's next 5 being better than Cleveland's 5, well according to Ice, that would be a yes as well . So how the hell does Boston have the 4 seed with Cleveland the 1?
Varejao > Big Cry Baby (Varejao is top 5 in the NBA in +/-, Glen is not even
Hickson > Washed up Wallace (Doc was considering playing Sheldon Williams if Wallace didn't actually show up in game 2, nuff said)
West > Tony "I blew out my knee playing after the whistle" Allen
If you disagree with any of the 3 above, then I can't help you.

I just can't see how someone who watches as much NBA as you do can say that the Celtics have a better bench than Orlando or Cleveland. I agree with CalBear's analysis above.
So who are you picking as the champs this year?
i bet on Orlando before the playoffs started at (+500) to win the championship... there is only one team that can knock them off, and that is Boston...
i am a betting man, not a rooting man... i am PRAYING to God that Cleveland beats Orlando... the thought of getting Orlando at +150 or so is fucking hysterical to me...
the only way i will hedge my Futures bet on Orlando is if they play Boston... and i will only hedge a little bit of it... otherwise it's smooth sailing for the Magic...

Shenanigans and Zonk... you have definitely proven "something"...
now watch the rest of the playoffs... it's my turn to prove something...
Ha you got something prove? Just try to beat the books, man, and keep that nonsense in your head
You arent on the C's so your really have nothing to prove.
If they win the series they wont hold a parade for you.... Ice4Blood was right! he told all of covers that the Celtics would win! They have a lot of PLAYOFF GUYS!

dude.. Im not saying the celtics wont win the series... they looked great last game
I just think youre full of shit... arrogant posts and stupid "playoff guy" theories
bullshit... it's not a stupid playoff guy theory... its 30 years of experience... i don't give a rats ass if you don't believe me... its your money going in the toilet... i know the NBA playoffs, and there are guys that have the kind of heart and guts you want to have, and there are guys that don't...
perfect example is Rashard Lewis... he single-handedly beat the Cleveland Cavaliers last year, because he, as a role player, stepped up and hit big shots time after time after time, while all these fucking losers you guys are worshipping on the Cavs bricked everything they threw up...
you want to disagree with me, fine... but my "theories" have served to get me a 19-1 betting streak to close out the 2008 playoffs, and a 12-2 stretch to end last year's playoffs... not to mention a 10-2 stretch currently... so i'm gonna stick with my "theories" if you don't mind...

98-08.... 26 playoff games 09.... 24 playoff games
10 yrs in the league... 26 playoff games before last yr... hadn't been out of the 2nd round
your theory is getting worse dumbfuck
Rashard was a big reason why the magic beat the cavs but quit with the PLAYOFF GUY thing! the cavs couldnt guard both turkeyglu and him....
10 FUCKING YEARS of not being a playoff guy and suddenly he is? easy to say afterwards isnt it
ok, you clearly are not understanding the concept of what a "playoff guy" is... and even though i do not find it to be a remotely complicated concept... i have no doubt that i could explain it until my eyes are bleeding and you would still not get it...
try this... get back to me after you have 30 years of experience following the NBA...

i mean guys who play better in the playoffs then in the regular season...
in music, they say that some guys get better when the red light goes on... that means, when they are recording, they are at their best... or in other words, they are at their best when it matters most...

Ice -- yeah I understand the concept. There are attorneys who operate at their best in trial, the concept can apply to many, many fields.
Are you basing who is a "playoff guy" and who isn't solely on your subjective recollection of their performances or are you using an objective statistical based measure?
Who do you identify as "playoff guys" for the 8 teams left in the playoffs?

it is not based on statistics... or at least i don't determine it that way... it is a case by case basis for all players, and certainly not an exact science... but if you are watching the NBA intently every year during this time, you will get a large enough sample to know who is or is not going to step up big when it counts... so it is more an eye test than anything...
i am not going to list all playoff guys remaining... but i will give you an example... to me, the best example of the difference between the two is Mo Williams vs. Rashard Lewis...
when the pressure is at their highest, which of these guys do you want taking a big shot for you? they both are very similar in terms of their value during the regular season, but in the playoffs, you would have to be brain dead to suggest that Mo is even close to as valuable as Rashard...
the playoff guy term has nothing to do with the number of playoff games they have played or won... KG was imprisoned in Minnesota... how about Chris Bosh? i bet people will say he isn't a playoff guy...
watch the next 8 or so years now that he is going to end up on a contender... the guy is going to go from being this guy everyone bashes and thinks isn't a competitor, to a guy who just kills people in the playoffs...
so basically, someone like Shenanigans, for example, will never master this kind of system... it requires the ability to not only analyze a player's game, but also his psychology...
and by the way, for those who do not know, handicapping is ALL about psychology... the pointspreads would never change from game 1 to game 2 if not for psychology... if you just cap players, you can't win at this game...

and to clarify, my big plays are the plays where i bet a full unit... they are the ones that i post in big bold colorful letters... all other plays are half unit small plays...

best way for us to settle this debate is pretty simple...
all those who think Boston has a better bench, bet on Boston every game for the rest of this series...
all those who think Cleveland has a better bench, bet on Cleveland every game for the rest of this series...
we'll see who comes out ahead...
It's official, you're delusional.
And if you think Chris Bosh will be a "playoff guy" (whatever the heck that is) then you are sadly mistaken. I've watched this guy ever since he came into the league and he's a giant box with no heart at all. Pretty good offensive player but a gutless box on the defensive end. Whatever team signs him will be greatly disappointed with the chump they end up with. Plus, he's already been to the playoffs twice and played gutless both times.
It's also funny you talk about psychology being the biggest factor in betting this shit (which it is) yet almost every post I've seen you're going back to the square old rhetoric of comparing starters, benches, coaches and all that other meaningless crap.
