I think I'd probably rank them as follows:
1. Phoenix
2. Orlando
3. Cleveland
What do you guys think?
wow! how can Cleveland's bench be ahead of Boston's bench?
Rasheed Wallace, Glen Davis, Marquis Daniels, Michael Finley... that's a pretty ridiculous bench right there... Cavs bench isn't close to that...
i would agree Phoenix's bench might the best... i think it's a tough call between Orlando and Boston for #2... i think there's a significant gap after those 3 teams...
bench? man i'd take Boston's bench over some of Cleveland's starters... you kidding?

shit i knew i left out someone important... Tony Allen! guy can D up against the best players in the league... he's one of about 5 players in the league who can do that legitimately...
this is not a close contest between the Boston and Cleveland benches...

i would never want Delonte West or Boobie Gibson anywhere on a 12 man roster... Z is not as good as he used to be...
only Varejao and JJ Hickson are guys i would have confidence having in the lineup in the playoffs... Z is serviceable, and you gotta love the way he works... but he gets handled by most big men these days...
Powe and Moon are nothing to write home about...
i wouldn't hesitate to take Boston's bench... 2 vs 5... and if you are going to start going beyond 6-10, i would also take Nate Robinson long before some of the clowns on the Cavs bench...
there are regular season guys, and there are playoff guys... Boston is has playoff guys, Cleveland has regular season guys...

Wallace and Finley are both washed up...every now and then Sheed will give you a good game like in game 2, but overall this guy is out of shape and done. Daniels is just not the same player since he left Dallas. I like Big baby off the bench and Allen is a great defender, but this bench doesn't come close to Cleveland's. Each of these guys brings something different to the table. There are at least 4 players that are capable of dropping 15-20 on any given night, at least 4 players that can grab 8-10 boards on any given night, and for the most part they are good defenders and know their roles. And Hickson is a beast that would start on many other teams.

well, so far, the evidence suggests you are both very wrong...
Boston's bench has not just outplayed Cleveland in two games in Cleveland, they kicked their ass... and in games 3 and 4 you will see more of the same...
the proof is in the pudding... how they play in the playoffs is what determines whose bench is better... and not only have you already seen better play from Boston's bench (on the road), i absolutely assure you you will continue to see that... because... ... Boston has the better bench...
trust me... watch the remainder of this series... it will be one by Boston, despite the fact that the refs will be working overtime to try to get Cleveland the win... and all the while, Boston's bench will be outplaying Cleveland's bench...

I disagree the best bench is determined by which bench plays best in the playoffs. Even so, other than Rasheed in game 2, Boston's bench has been non existent. They scored a combined 12 pts and grabbed 10 boards in game 1.
You mention evidence, I oon't see any facts. The below link provides you statistics/evidence on who is the better bench. In looking at the major statistics, Cleveland's bench avgs more pts, rebounds, assists, blocks...

Calbear... when the bench was in the game in the 2nd half last game they totally dominated... the evidence for me is on the TV screen...
again, i totally 100% disagree when you suggest the best bench isn't the one that plays best in the playoffs... i've been watching the NBA for 30 years... within the last 6-8 years i have realized one of the most important aspects of betting the NBA is to recognize that there are regular season guys and playoff guys... you cannot win a championship with regular season guys, pure and simple... i have NEVER in 30 years seen it happen one time... not once!
Boston is loaded with playoff guys... Cleveland has 4 or 5 at best...

before these playoffs are over Finley will have some big shots... because Finley is a playoff guy... Rasheed is a playoff guy...
seriously... if you have been around and seen these guys play, you know what i mean... some guys step up in the playoffs, and some guys step down...
i can't begin to understand why anyone would prefer stats over that...

can't argue with that... with Memet and Kirilenko the Jazz would win this series... not even the slightest doubt about it... the fact they actually were in either game in LA without those guys confirms it... real tragedy for Sloan to lose those two guys... he would have finally got the Laker monkey off his back...

Kapono... i will warn you against disregarding me, or assuming this is somehow a homer opinion...
once we are into the 2nd round of the playoffs, my radar is as tune as anyone you will ever meet... 3 straight years i have hit at a ridiculous % after round 1, and 3 straight i have picked the eventual champs before game 1 of the playoffs...
i am not wrong about this, i assure you... the Celts bench will continue to outplay the Cavs bench through every game in this series...

i actually saw a stat that Varejao has the best +/- of any player in the NBA other than Lebron... surprising, but that is a fairly impressive stat... and yes, just like with the Hawks, the biggest problem in Cleveland comes back to coaching...
which also has a lot to do with how your bench plays in the playoffs, incidentally...

Wow, the ignornant posts on here are getting so much more entertaining. Is Boston's first 5 better than Cleveland's, in my opinion YES. I would rather have Rondo, Allen, Pierce, KGH & Perkins over Mo, Parker, Lebron, Jamison & Shaq.
However, Boston's next 5 being better than Cleveland's 5, well according to Ice, that would be a yes as well . So how the hell does Boston have the 4 seed with Cleveland the 1?
Varejao > Big Cry Baby (Varejao is top 5 in the NBA in +/-, Glen is not even
Hickson > Washed up Wallace (Doc was considering playing Sheldon Williams if Wallace didn't actually show up in game 2, nuff said)
West > Tony "I blew out my knee playing after the whistle" Allen
If you disagree with any of the 3 above, then I can't help you.
