In this new format, there have been 16 series and the first game winner has won 15 of the series. 11 of those wins have come with sweeps. From those numbers, one team wins today to extend thirrseason. I think Houston has a shot but I still think I’ll just bet all the game one winners and look for 3/4 winners.

Great info
I think pads are the easiest sweep today. Braves give me pause. How often in those past series did a teams best pitcher pitch game two instead of one? I could see Astros tying it up as well. I think worst case you go 2/4 but cant knock the strategy with those past results

@pa2918
actually agree with you more than the OP. Everyone and their mother has heard about the high rate of sweeps. Once the public has thoroughly digested a trend enough to bet on it, things generally start to swing the other way. I think the Phillies and Astros both have good chances to push it to a game 3.

@NutinButtLove
I did initially but after looking at Sanchez’s number this year against Atlanta and Mahle’s numbers against the Phillies this year, ATL has the advantage on the bump today. They have home field and Phillies spent their best reliever yesterday only for a bomb to be dropped that lost the game. Phillies own isn’t great imo and their bats are cold. I haven’t made any bets yet but I will probably live bet the Sox/Stros game.
