Suspended game

How does a suspended game get graded? I wasn't able to see it in my books rules. Typically how is it graded? I'm talking Giants / Cubs from last night.

On the phone with my book now. I'm going to raise hell if they say the game was called. Giants protested and won the protest earlier today.

Actually an hour ago per ESPN.

Never mind.  I see the rules now.  My book put in a request to have it re-graded, but looks like I am fighting a losing battle.

Haha.  Me too DaliLama.  Mine was a 9 teamer to win over $5k.  It's a stupid rule, but it is in the sportsbook rules that a suspended game is considered final if they have gone the official innings limit.  BS if you ask me.  If a tornado comes during the 6th inning of a game, but they decide to replay the game at a later day, it should be considered no action, or considered a live future bet.  But what can us little peons do?

I had the Giants on a parlay and emailed the book. Here is what I got back.

I was able to call the management team at the Race and Sports Hub and they informed me that the graded results of yesterdays game still stand per house rules. Below is an excerpt of the house rules pertaining to baseball regulation times:

 

"Baseball (major league, minor league, college, amateur) – In all nine-inning scheduled games, winners and losers are official after nine innings of play, unless the home team is leading after eight and one-half innings.  Called or Suspended games must go a minimum of five innings or four and one-half innings if the home team is ahead (also applies to seven-inning scheduled games).  If a game goes past five innings and is subsequently Called or Suspended, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning of play; except in a case in which the home team scores to tie or take the lead in the bottom half of the inning in which the game is Called or Suspended, the runs do count.  For baseball “totals”, run lines, and propositions see rule #11."

 

Basically I lost even if the Giants come back and win the suspended game Thursday.

Yeah.  It's a ridiculous rule, because the game is not officially over in any aspect.  The standings do not change based on a "suspended" game, so a game should not be graded as such.  I get a called game where the game is official, as a team has been deemed a winner, but a game where they are going to complete at another time is just not fair to the bettor.

I'm probably looking at the same type of response from them tomorrow, so I'll update once I hear back from them.  Stupid rain.

Guy I talked to on the phone was saying the game was called, but I told them there was a big difference between a game being called, and a game being suspended to be played out tomorrow.  So he put in a request to the grading department and told me I'd hear back within 24 hours.  I place a lot of money through them, so maybe they'll make an exception.

Saw news of that ruling scrolling on ESPN tonight, and my heart jumped with joy for a second.  First protest win in MLB in 28 years?  Crazy.

The Giants also requested the Cubs forfeit the game, but were denied that part of the protest as crew chief Hunter Wendelstedt determined the grounds crew did everything in its power to get the field playable again.

I also got this from the rules. Pretty clear that I have no recourse but to take the loss. I xxx the casino name.

“For betting purposes, the winner of an event or game will be determined on the date and approximate time of the events conclusion according to house wagering rules.  xxx Casinos does not recognize suspended games, result changes one hour or more after the events conclusion, protests, or overturned decisions, etc.”

this is garbage.. I can accept losses.. but when my time hasn't even lost yet and its considered a loser is BS.. should be a push but worst case should be picked up tomorrow..
