Because Doval was used yesterday (he threw 9 fucking pitches) he is unavailable today. What a joke today’s game has turned into…analytics now outweighs common sense. On the total, I had the under 6.5 live, and Chapman walks 2 then gives up the tying run because Abreu makes a right field error and throws the ball away.  What shocks me the most if anything is how bad pitchers are these days.  In the 70s and 80s generally you had the starter, the middle reliever, and the closer or the closer could go 2 innings and sometimes 3.  Just the name Mariano Rivera spelled "game over."  Not one closer in today's game with the exception of possibly Mason Miller of the Padres, has branded themselves as one that can literally shut the other team down.  Chapman had that early on in his career but last week the Red Sox were beating the Rockies 3 - 0 bottom 9th, Chapman comes in, Red Sox lose 4 - 3.  Inexcusable.
