Kind of a coin flip no matter which way you look at it. But I do slightly trust Burrows more than Mikolas in this spot.
I think that the Astros should have some juice going forward with all the rumors of them looking to upgrade with trades before the deadline. Obviously they're looking for outfielders, and Tarik Skubal and Sonny Gray have come up in discussions.
Jake Meyers was finally sent down to AAA. He was awful all year, terrible OPS. His last game with the Stros was on July 3rd.
Trammel and Matthews aren't necessarily instant upgrades, as the Stros try to trade for outfielders yet. But it's a couple of young guys who'll play their ass off in the meantime trying to prove themselves. Matthews in particular is an instant upgrade defensively. Great arm, 89.4 mph vs Meyers 80mph. Matthews is a +4 in outs above average, and fielding run value.
The Stros went 16-10 in June. 5-3 last 8 games.
Much better than their terrible start to the season, feels like they're on the up n up in a winnable division.
The Nats went 13-14 in June. Also 5-3 last 8. In a not so winnable division with the Braves, Phillies, and a surging Marlins team.
I say coin flip, an old school line would make both teams -105 here. In today's world of terrible odds -110 on both sides.
I also leaned to the over for various reasons, but it's a Monday where low offensive outputs happen more than other days.
Good Luck

The threat of rain scared me off this game with HOU being the touts free play of the day So,BEWARE In my mind the team to hop on right now would be the Stl Cardinals They play 5 games in 4 days against MIL,then finish the weekend with ATL That should be my road to riches lol
This I didn't know, and don't like the sound of that.
