The Red Sox appear to be in a good position to build on their winning streak since left-hander Garrett Crochet (12-4, 2.23 ERA) -- Boston's ace -- is scheduled to start on Tuesday.
Crochet is 1-1 with a 1.62 ERA in eight career appearances (two starts) against the Royals. He won at Kansas City on May 10 after throwing seven innings of one-run ball and striking out nine.
Rookie right-hander Ryan Bergert (1-0, 2.78) is scheduled to make his Royals debut. Bergert, who was acquired from the San Diego Padres just before the trade deadline last week, will be making his first career appearance against Boston.
Bergert made 11 appearances (seven starts) for the Padres this season, and he recorded 34 strikeouts in 35 2/3 innings.

Molina allowed one run on three hits in an inning in relief last season in his lone career appearance against the Blue Jays.
Berrios has faced the Rockies twice in his career, winning both starts over 14 2/3 shutout innings. Tuesday will be his first time pitching in Colorado, and he can build off Eric Lauer's start in Monday's victory.

Tuesday's series opener is scheduled to feature a pair of right-handers in the White Sox's Davis Martin (3-8, 3.84 ERA) and the Mariners' Bryan Woo (8-6, 3.11).
Martin beat visiting Philadelphia 6-2 on July 28, when he allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings and matched his season high with seven strikeouts. He's 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA in two career appearances against the Mariners, including a 5-1 loss May 19 in Chicago despite allowing just two runs on four hits in 7 1/3 innings.
Woo has pitched at least six innings in all 21 of his starts this season. He suffered a 5-4 loss on Wednesday against the Athletics in Sacramento, Calif., when he allowed a career-high four homers.
In three previous starts against the White Sox, Woo has pitched to a 1.98 ERA without receiving a decision.

Nathan Eovaldi, the American League pitcher of the month for July, will take the ball for the Texas Rangers against the New York Yankees on Tuesday night in the second contest of a three-game set in Arlington, Texas.
Rookie Will Warren (6-5, 4.64 ERA) will start for the Yankees in a battle of right-handers.
The Rangers captured the series opener on Monday, beating the Yankees 8-5 when Josh Jung ripped a two-out, three-run homer in the 10th inning. Texas has won two of its past three games while the Yankees have dropped four straight.
New York is hoping for a lift from two-time AL MVP Aaron Judge, activated from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. Expected to DH while coming back from a flexor strain in his right elbow, Judge leads the majors with a .342 batting average and ranks second in the AL in home runs (37) and RBIs (85).
Eovaldi (9-3, 1.49 ERA) won all five of his starts in July while lowering his ERA from 1.87 to 1.49. He allowed just three runs (two earned) and struck out 30 batters in 30 2/3 innings, amassing a minuscule 0.59 ERA and ending the month with his 100th career victory with a win over the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim, Calif., on Wednesday.
Eovaldi hasn't lost a decision since May 22, when he allowed just one run on five hits and a walk over six innings in a 1-0 loss to the Yankees in New York. That setback dropped him to 5-6 in 23 appearances (20 starts) versus the Yankees, with an ERA of 3.44 in 117 2/3 innings.
Eovaldi has struck out 108 Yankees' batters in his career, his most against any team.
Warren has one career outing against the Rangers, pitching 5 2/3 scoreless innings while allowing five hits and a walk and striking out 10 in a 5-2 victory over Texas on May 20 in the Bronx.

Clement and Barger both looking a little tired and overwhelmed lately so the infusion of injured talent coming back will be an epic wind in their sails.... Gimenez Gold Glover at 2nd to give Clement a break so he can recharge and be the pest that he is at the plate.....and then Santander and Springer with loaded bats could both play taking turns at DH....this team could the go back to having the best bench in baseball by far
