This matchup is flying way under the radar tonight, and most folks are riding with the Giants' pitching for pretty obvious reasons.
SF’s rolling out their breakout ace, Landen Roupp, who’s been lights-out lately. He's been nearly unhittable for a month. Since June 21st, he’s only allowed 4 ER in 5 starts…and that includes starts against heavy hitters like the Dodgers and Phillies.
Meanwhile, Atlanta’s throwing out Davis Daniel, who’s only started once this season. He did pretty solid tho, giving up just 1 ER in 4 innings in STL just before the All Star Break.
Usually, I’m super anti-Braves when it comes to betting (their lines are almost always trash for value). But honestly, this one is a rare moment where I think the books may be fairly assessing Atlanta in 2025.
Daniel’s been killing it in AAA Gwinnett, especially in that Georgia heat, and he’s got that splitter/slider working. He should be fine and adjusted, but not sure you can say the same for Roupp. SF’s pitched in mild temps all year and Roupp’s curve might not snap the same way tonight in that sweaty ATL air.Giants arms just aren’t used to this kind of heat in general (pushing 90° out there), but Atlanta’s boys live in it. Most folks think the Giants have the pitching edge tonight, but I think the Braves keep smashing.
