Both of these teams faced each other in last year’s National League Championship Series, and the Dodgers swept the Milwaukee Brewers. Yesterday, Milwaukee finally picked up its first win of the series and scored more than one run against the Dodgers for the first time in the postseason.
Remember, when these two teams met in last year’s playoffs, the Dodgers held Milwaukee to just one run per game.
These are two of the best teams in baseball, and you know the crowd is going to be energized. Both teams will be fired up, motivated, and ready to go. But Milwaukee has its good-luck charm on the mound tonight... Logan Henderson. He has started nine home games for the Brewers this season, including one postseason start, and Milwaukee is 9-0 in his nine home starts.
We all know how good Yamamoto is. The Dodgers are 10-3 in his 13 road starts this season. He was outstanding on the road last year in the postseason. His arsenal of pitches is ridiculous!!! Between his curveball, splitter, and the different looks he gives hitters, he’s almost unhittable when he’s locked in. And when the playoffs come around, he seems to take his game to another level, limiting opponents to zero or one run.
With two elite pitchers on the mound, I expect a low-scoring, hard-fought game. However, I believe the Brewers will find a way to do just enough offensively to get the job done in front of their home crowd.
Final score 3-2.
Let's have a winning day everybody.
