Current win streak is 14
Only 1 team since 1960 had a 14 or more game win streak and won the WS. The 1991 Twins who had 15. 0 teams won if they won 16 or more from 1960 on. There have been 17 teams who won 14 or more since 1960

The playoff formats are constantly changing. There were a lot less teams able to compete in the postseason in 1960 than in 2025.
Im betting a lot of those 17 teams weren’t even eligible to compete in the postseason.
I’d rather have the Brewers on my dance card than most mlb teams. Just win baby!

Cincy led 8-1 after 2 = lost.
Cincy led 2-1 with only 2 outs left needed = lost
Anybody who believed in Cincy being the ones to break the streak before this series began no longer does after 2 games. That's why they'll win Sunday. Milwaukee has the Cubs on deck for a 4-game series starting Monday, I seriously doubt they desire to use any of their best pen arms in a 'meaningless' getaway road game vs. Cincy when they have the Cubs on deck for a 4-game series starting Monday. Their lead could be reduced to 5.0 if both teams won Sunday then the Cubs swept them. They know there's too far to go to take this coming series with the Cubs lightly. From the other side of things, Cincy is right there for a WC spot, they still have everything to play for (not just immediate pride and revenge).

@sandique
Actually Milwaukee's series with the Cubs is FIVE games. Doubleheader tomorrow and then three more. Brewers fried bullpen last two miraculous wins and face Abbott today. If ever Milw loses, it's today.
BUT! I would never ever buck a streak like this. Just skip the game. The time to fade the Brewers is when they inevitably cool off as every team in history (other than maybe the 27 Yankees) has

@Griswold1
Missed that. That hurts the Cubs, but given it occurs of the first day of the series that should in turn 'help' Cincy's bid to get the W today.
