You are correct sir, you say it much better than I ever could in multiple paragraphs.

Why yes I do.....
They are clearing out all of the deadwood that was put in place when Micheal Dell stepped aside. Also they have listened to thier business customers and home customers.
They have released the Vostsro computers that have none of that pain in the ass trialware on them. Also the Wal-Mart sales are starting to click. Add to that you will get stateside customer serice with just two year and above service contracts starting next year instead of just 4 year service contracts which it is now.
They have more production coming online to take care of those problems they are having with not having all of those extra color laptops they are now selling. They way underestimated the surge for those to begin with.
Also, rumor has it that Micheal Dell will start being the face of Dell again like Jobs is. He will start to be seen in some of the advertisements. Which I think will be huge, just him being back of the helm is making things click better. It was a huge mistake for him to step back and I believe things are just now starting to turn around.
They tried to get cheap and save money when he stepped aside. They won't make that mistake again.

What's that Wallstreet? About Dell?

Well, I've never really advertised that I do any of it. I keep things pretty close to the cuff. When I got out of the market before the tech bubble crashed I really didn't care to get into it back that much. I made an obscene amount of money and didn't want to ever risk giving it back. I saw the crash coming and got out ahead of time.
I guess I had an advantage being in the tech field. You can only squirt out red ink like a cybersquid for so long before it goes crash.
But when the hockey lockout happened a few years ago I had money just sitting there making me next to nothing. So I got back in again and loved it. Did well again, just concentrating on tech stocks. When they release thier products coming out I can smell if it's the real thing or vaporware in a heartbeat.
But it also helps that I do work with a great deal of younger people in the field and I bounce products off them to get a feel for things
So where I will not be active in wagering pucks this year I need another outlet once again.

The main reason for the Walmart move was to combat HP/Compaq. Walmart has been selling them for quite awhile. You are correct about Dell offering thier lower tier systems there. But for Christmas they will also offer some midline models.
Now Dell does have retail, you might not have them in your area, but it's just low cost kiosk in malls. They are not that stupid to think they can open retail stores. Gateway is still paying for that stupid move.
Also you might just be seeing Dell's in other big box stores. Yes, they could be getting away from those 1-800 Dell sales. As long as they make the same margins they really don't give a squat.
